💙 Honored to Serve El Monte with Compassion 💙

At the El Monte Women’s Club General Membership Meeting on February 24, 2026, representatives of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation attended at the invitation of Cindy Wu, Third Vice President of the Club and Board Member of the El Monte Mountain View School District.

During the Club’s annual “Giving from the Heart” month, Tzu Chi Medical Foundation was named one of the 2026 Nonprofits of the Year, alongside several dedicated community organizations. We are deeply humbled to be recognized for our ongoing service to the El Monte community.

Tzu Chi Medical was also honored with special recognitions from the California State Senate, presented by Senator Susan Rubio (22nd District), the County of Los Angeles under the leadership of Supervisor Hilda Solis (First District), and the City of El Monte Women's Club.

These honors reflect our continued commitment to serving underserved families through mobile ophthalmology and dental services, in close partnership with local schools and community organizations.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the El Monte Women’s Club and our community partners. Together, we will continue bringing compassionate care, relief, and hope to those who need it most. 🌿✨

We were honored to attend the Mountain View School District’s Partner Appreciation Luncheon on February 25, 2025 💙

As a proud partner of the district, we joined fellow organizations dedicated to supporting local students and families.

Our partnership with Mountain View School District has been a longstanding one. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, our mobile clinics have provided students with vision and dental care right on campus.

By bringing care directly to schools, we help families access essential healthcare without caregivers having to miss work or lose income, and without students missing valuable class time.

We are deeply grateful to Mountain View School District for the opportunity to serve their community and for the appreciation they’ve shown. Together, we’re building healthier futures for our children.

🕯️💙 On February 23, 2026, All Saints Church in Pasadena held its 15th Annual Interfaith Memorial Service to honor unhoused community members who had passed away.

Led by Rev. Mark Chase and Thomas Diaz, the service brought together faith representatives from Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Buddhism. As each name was read, candles were lit in tribute, creating a moving moment of unity and remembrance.

Nearly 100 community members and individuals experiencing homelessness attended. Partner organizations, including the City of Pasadena Housing Department, The Shower of Hope, Union Station Homeless Services, and Tzu Chi, shared messages calling for continued compassion and care.

In his remarks, Dr. Stephen Denq, CEO of Tzu Chi USA Medical Foundation: “Tzu Chi began with charity. In serving those in poverty, we recognized that illness often leads to financial hardship. Charity and medicine are inseparable. As we carry out both charitable and medical missions, we work closely with community partners to expand our collective strength and provide better care for all.”

The evening also featured a contemporary dance tribute by Robyn Williams of Union Station and a heartfelt sign language performance of “Love Heals the World” by Tzu Chi USA Headquarters’ sign language team. The gathering concluded with a shared community dinner.

Earlier that day, Tzu Chi’s Mobile Dental Clinic provided care during the church’s weekly outreach program, serving with healing by day and remembrance by night. Tzu Chi officially joined the church’s outreach efforts on January 12, 2026. 🌿✨

For more than 30 years, Tzu Chi USA National Headquarters volunteers have stood alongside under-resourced farmworker and immigrant families in Southern California’s Inland Empire, offering care, dignity, and hope.

On Sept. 28, 2025, Tzu Chi USA National Headquarters volunteers brought healing and hope to Inland Empire communities through a large-scale free clinic, offering Western and traditional Chinese medicine, dental, vision, and blood testing.

By 2:00 PM, the clinic had served 72 individuals through 425 medical consultations, a powerful reminder of what compassionate action can achieve when hearts come together.

Healthcare is a human right, and together, we’re making it accessible. 💙
