I am forever amazed at the gift these monthly Women’s Drum Circles are for me. I hold them if there are 1 or 10 people. This week they were small and wonderful. I am notorious for not marketing myself well. I can do it for others, but…that’s another story. I had no more than 2 people at the circles, and we had a blast! With such small groups, each of us can have more than one drum, I can give more individual attention and shape the circle for what is needed by the attendee(s). For instance, Wednesday afternoon, I had one attendee, a regular, and she wanted to work on her technique and matching patterns as a way to exercise her brain. It was brilliant!

August circles are�Monaca: Tuesday, August 19: 7:00-8:30 pm
Chippewa: Wednesday, August 20: 2:00-3:00 pm
Greentree: Wednesday, August 20: 7:00 - 8:30 pm

I served as co-chair of the Music Therapy PA State Task Force with my dear friend Nicole Hahna for many years. I stepped down in January of 2024, and she has continued with long-standing task force member Madison Frank now serving as co-chair. The need for music therapy licensure in Pennsylvania is great, and this article captures the work Nicole and the task force are doing. Spent the weekend as the music therapist for these amazing people. Always such a beautifully impactful weekend. The Pittsburgh camp is like family for me.
