Federal physical activity guidelines recommend that adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise each week, in addition to muscle-strengthening activities at least twice a week. But according to the new NCHS report, which drew on five years of data from the National Health Interview Survey, only about 23% of adults ages 18 to 64 are hitting both of those marks. Another 32% met one but not both, and almost 45% did not hit either benchmark. #movementismedicine

Let’s talk about that pot of coffee you drink to get your day started.....

Among people with no diagnosis of heart disease, regular coffee consumption of 0.5 to 3 cups of coffee a day was associated with a decreased risk of death from heart disease, stroke and early death from any cause when compared to non-coffee drinkers.

It's another home run for coffee consumption. Studies have found drinking moderate amounts of coffee can protect adults from type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, liver disease, prostate cancer, Alzheimer's, computer back pain and more.

What is it?

Cervical Radiculopathy.

A pinched or irritated nerve in the neck causing pain, numbness, or weakness.
Cervical radiculopathy is sometimes called a pinched nerve.

How we help?
We first examine the complaint and make sure we have an accurate diagnosis. Just because you have pain into an extremity does rule in cervical radiculopathy, but it could also be other conditions, myocardial infarction or shoulder bursitis to name a few.
Next we want to establish a treatment plan to relieve the symptoms as quickly as possible.
Treat often includes, cervical traction, manual therapy (passive/active release), ROM exercise, manipulation, and rest.
Finally we want to strengthen and condition the area so reoccurrence does not occur.
