Our thoughts control our personal reality. My healing clients share with me that they feel anxious and uneasy, and have trouble sleeping. Some are afraid about the future, and others report feeling wired or “on edge” all the time. Why is this happening and what can we do about it? People are naturally tapping into the energy of the collective consciousness in our country right now and these are the feelings being sent out. We need to take back control of how we personally feel by connecting within – by controlling what we think. Take blocks of time (15 min) and sit in silence; breathe deeply and connect with your body. Ask each body part how it is feeling. Disconnect from the noise of social media and the news – for an hour, an evening, or a day. Tap into a memory that brings thoughts of joy and let that smile come out again. Start a Gratitude Journal – each day, write down 3 things you are grateful for in your life. Spend time in nature – take a walk every day or simply sit in the grass outdoors. Being in nature grounds us, it reconnects our root chakra to the earth for support. Earth is nourishing and supportive. By reconnecting with your body, with your thoughts, you gain back control. If some news enters your environment and shakes you, then stop, breathe deeply, and repeat to yourself, “I am safe. I am loved. I am okay.” The thought for today is to take back control of how you feel. Do not let the fear of others determine how you personally feel right now. The world has been turned upside down, but if you reconnect with your inner compass, you will be guided to that safe space within that comforts and reassures you that you are okay. You can, and will, get through this experience.
