Our Jump Start Workshop on June 14th was our largest yet, with a powerful turnout of newly diagnosed members, care partners, and community vendors. The morning was filled with education, connection, and hope.
Dr. Kenneth Martinez delivered an exceptionally patient-centered presentation, helping participants understand the wide range of symptoms that can come with Parkinson’s and how to communicate what they’re feeling to their care teams. His insights brought clarity and comfort to many in the room.
Claire McLean, DPT, owner of Rogue Physical Therapy & Wellness Center , focused on the role of exercise, movement, and lifestyle in living well with Parkinson’s. She also emphasized the importance of nutrition and daily habits, offering practical tips that participants could start using right away.
Lauren Simmons , founder and chairman of Parkinson’s Orange County, gave a talk from the patient’s perspective demonstrating how she is living successfully with Parkinson’s for over nine years. Lauren reminded attendees that a diagnosis is not the end, it’s the beginning of a new path forward, filled with community, purpose, and strength.
We are grateful to everyone who made this event such a success and are proud to continue supporting our community—from diagnosis and beyond.
