We have finally found the solution to the issues with the cottage food sales! January weather, our website limitations for cottage foods and Paul's surgery limited us with food offerings. Now we have a unique and organized platform to offer our baked goods to the public! It helps me organize bake days, pickups and rewards you, the loyal customer, points, that turn into $ off future orders! You may also subscribe to receive text notifications for "menu drops" and pickup days.

Let's discuss what will be available and why you want to subscribe for menu drops:

🥖🧁 Sourdough and sourdough baked goods. The ingredient prices of our well known lemon lavender poppyseed cake has gone through the roof and without steep price increases, this delicacy has been reimagined into a sourdough version (with simpler ingredients and no preservatives) in different packaging.

🪻🍇Floral and Fruity Jellies. Remember the "Lavender Confit?" We used to have lavender jelly, just in case you "found" us after that season of deliciousness offerings. Plain floral jelly is a no-no per Michigan cottage law. BUT. You can make a floral jelly with a small percentage of fruit. "Lavender Confit" will be reimagined into a range of fruit based jellies over the next month. We also have a nice variety of edible flowering trees and bushes, besides our "run of the mill" lavender. These unique and "over the top" jellies will be slowly introduced over the next month or two. The varieties of floral and fruity jellies will shock you so, I am telling you right now, you need to sign up for the menu drops if you want to see what we come up with next!

Pickups will be at the farm only (near lake Allegan) for the next couple of weeks until we feel confident with our organizational skills and partner with local businesses in different cities for pickup zones. At this time we cannot mail food subject to cottage law outside of Michigan.

Speaking of Michigan's Cottage Food Law, the new changes take effect on March 24. We have decided that is the perfect day for our first menu drop!

I am sure the last question is how do you sign up for those menu drops? The site is located in the photo. We do get penalized here for posting links so that is the best way to get you to the site without being thrown into the penalty box!

PS: Paul is at the doctor right now and hoping to get clearance to attend the Indoor Holland Farmers Market on Saturday from 9-1! Woot woot!

February has not been kind to us.

Pauls cancer recovery is slower than expected.

We lost Pauls mom.

2 major appliances 💩 the bed.

We also lost our “little guy” unexpectedly. He developed a golf ball sized subcutaneous lump on his chest the same week Paul had cancer surgery. I was postponing a biopsy with all of the chaos we experienced during pauls recovery. Unfortunately, I do believe it was hemangiosarcoma, a fast moving canine cancer. He loved our farm visitors so much and lived for someone to arrive, especially kids.

Yesterday I did a thing. I needed to go touch some dirt and ground myself. I went outside and started to replant the Vera section badly damaged from a tree falling on it two years ago. It felt good to “rebuild” something and gave me renewed hope.

🥂 to Phoenix Rising from the Ashes. Paul and I decided to add another 1000 plants to that section this year!

Isn't this four 6 pack order of Munstead gorgeous? Reach out if you are looking for a specific variety that we have listed on our website.

Our adorable bunny soaps are hopping back to the Holland Farmers Market February 21 from 9AM to 1PM! Lots of various scents and colors to choose from and these prices are only for "naked" (no packaging) bunnies for in-person markets. Available while supplies last, I have made A TON this year.

The small bar (approx 2 ounces) is perfect for small hands and is $2 in person ($4 online with organza packaging.) The large bar is 4 ounces ($6 online with organza packaging) and is a beautiful addition as a seasonal display bar in your guest bathrooms!

Winter lavender update (Feb 2026.)

We received about a total of 10 feet of snow this year since Thanksgiving! I definitely have some shocking news to deliver.

Our mainly Lavandin field (the Lily field) suffered no damage which is shocking considering the amount of snow the plants were buried under and sustained freezing temps. In fact, Grosso (first photo) variety does not appear to have gone dormant this year, nor shows any signs of damage. This comes as a huge surprise as Grosso is the most “winter delicate” of all the lavender we have.

The Heather Field (by the bees, second photo,) has significant damage. These are English and our oldest crop (planted 2019.). They are smashed to the side like the Lily field in 2024. And they are smashed pretty bad. The good news is we have had this happen before and even better news is because it is English and regenerates from the crown. They are fully dormant but there is signs of green growth at the crown. We will do what we did in 2024 and let them go to full bloom then give them a very sharp “haircut” at harvest. We had a second bloom that year, with that strategy, so crossing fingers for a second bloom in 2026.

Bloom will look gnarly in the heather field but, as anyone knows who has visited our farm, the last thing we care about is aesthetics. The first and foremost is the health of our plants to allow them to deliver the highest quality lavender products to YOU!

Ugly plants can still deliver high quality lavender as we found out in 2024!
