In 5 days I will begin a new chapter in my life. I will be semi retired. This change in my life comes with a mixture of emotions ( sadness, excitement, anxiety, relief and plain curiousness. I will still being doing what I love, but on a smaller scale as I focus on my private practice. The training wheels have been taken off and the safety net has been removed. I will finally be my own boss and the master of my own destiny. You better believe that I am nervous., but this is something that I have dreamed of and now it is coming true. When we step away from our comfort zone, we do become anxious and question if this is the right thing or not. But, change can be good. So acknowledge the discomfort and move full steam ahead. The new adventure awaits.

Approximately 70% of adults have experienced some form of trauma in their life. The memory gets locked in the brain and unprocessed along with the feelings and certain beliefs. EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an Evidenced Based Treatment for Post Traumatic Stress disorder, acute traumas, phobias and other conditions. Through eye movements, tapping or sounds the memory is , reprocessed and made to be less intense and over whelming and frightening. Appropriate beliefs about the event and self are installed. 80 percent of the people in treatment for it achieve some results. I am proud to announce that I now provide that service.

Do you have a goal that you would like to pursue. What would you do if you were guaranteed success. It starts with a idea or vision and then a plan.Then you start doing some research and then you take one small step towards it and then another and another. Before you know it, you are there. You will have those thoughts of I can't do it, it's too much work or I am too old for it. That is normal. The brain acts like an emergency brake that tries to stop you once you begin to feel uncomfortable or anxious. But if you can tolerate some discomfort and doubt, you will get there. I never imagined having my own business but with the encouragement of others, not listening to the doubts and faiith, You will make some mistakes along the way, but use them as learning experiences. Keep your eyes on the prize and just keep believing.
