Floaters and flashes aren’t always harmless. 🚨

While some floaters are normal, a sudden increase in floaters, flashes of light, or the feeling of a “curtain” over your vision may signal a retinal tear or detachment — a serious condition that needs urgent care.

If you notice these changes, don’t wait!

Are your eyes watering... because they’re DRY? 👁️💧

It sounds like a contradiction, but watery eyes are actually one of the most common symptoms of Dry Eye Syndrome. When your eyes lack the quality, oily lubrication they need to stay protected, your brain sends an "emergency signal" to flood the eye with tears.

The problem? These emergency tears are mostly water. They lack the essential nutrients and oils to actually stick to your eye, leaving you in a constant cycle of irritation and blurred vision.

Is this you? You might be experiencing Dry Eye if you notice: ✅ A gritty, "sand-in-the-eye" sensation ✅ Blurred vision that clears temporarily when you blink ✅ Sensitivity to light or evening glare ✅ Eye fatigue after screen time or driving

Over-the-counter drops are often just a temporary "band-aid." At Fairview Eyecare, Dr. Patrick and our team use advanced diagnostics to find the root cause of your dryness and provide personalized treatments that actually heal.

Call to Action: Stop guessing and start healing. Let’s get your comfort back!

Meet the Visionary Behind Fairview Eyecare: Dr. Carey A. Patrick 👩‍⚕️✨

When you visit Fairview Eyecare, you are in the hands of one of Texas’ leading optometric experts. Dr. Patrick is Board Certified in Therapeutic Optometry and has dedicated her career to elevating the standards of eye care.

In 2015, she was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas Optometry Board, a position of public trust where she protects patients and guides the profession across the state. From serving as President of the Northeast Texas Optometric Society to receiving the prestigious Mollie Armstrong Award for outstanding service, her clinical leadership is matched only by her passion for her patients.

But to us, she’s more than just an expert—she’s a neighbor. A resident of Fairview since 2007, Dr. Patrick is deeply rooted in our Collin County community. Whether she’s:

Serving on the Board for the Allen-Fairview Chamber of Commerce 🤝

Leading local Girl Scout troops (a lifetime member!) ⚜️

Or even remembering her days dancing at half-time for the Houston Rockets! 🏀💃

Dr. Patrick believes that every patient deserves an exam that is as thorough as it is compassionate. She is especially passionate about children’s vision as a provider for InfantSEE, ensuring our youngest neighbors get the head start they deserve. 👶👁️
Experience the difference that expert, community-focused care makes.
