[Slow metabolism? Avoid these mistakes so that itโs not your fault!]
If youโre like most of our clients and busy professionals that we work with, you probably think you just have a โslow metabolism.โ
In reality, the crash dieting, program hopping, influencer fad diet believing, back and forth, start and stopping, or thinking about starting every other week is the reason youโre not cranking up your metabolism.
In fact, itโs not your fault because of all the confusion out there!
Letโs just say that โmuscle confusionโ is just that, confusing... ๐ค
Cranking up your metabolism is something that you can โswitchโ on at any moment!
Avoid these 5 mistakes!
1๏ธโฃ Improper protein intake - eat protein in every meal in a good amount! Protein helps prevent the loss of muscle mass. Losing muscle decreases your metabolism.
2๏ธโฃ Inappropriate time for dieting - muscle helps increase metabolism, so try to build some muscle with a solid weight training or body weight routine before dieting so that you can sculpt your body instead of looking like a frail bird.
3๏ธโฃ Too much cardio - too much cardio paired with a low-calorie deficit creates havoc on your metabolism. Not to mention (barring avid runners and cyclists) itโs boring and hard to stick to long term. Try throwing cardio movements into your weight sessions to maximize your sculpting and transform quickly!
4๏ธโฃ Sleep - ignoring the importance of sleep is severely detrimental to your ability to burn fat. Some are wired differently and can handle low amounts of sleep. But for the rest of the 99%, adequate sleep is the only way to maximize fat loss. Lack of sleep messes with your insulin sensitivity and makes you store fat more than burn.
5๏ธโฃ Persistence - overcoming the fall offs and learning to stay on track, even if you veer off, having a set of guidelines and a coach or accountability group is the best way to make sure you hit your goals! They will help you find what works for your body so that you can have a fun time reaching your goals instead of dreading it!
Once you understand your mistakes, then maintaining a good metabolism will not be a challenge for you.
