Nrityajyoti Dance Academy Ever since winning the prestigious Indian national dance scholarship from West Bengal Governor B.D. Her Dance troupe Aakrisht performs both in India and USA.

Nrityajyoti Dance Academy was founded by Rinku Bhattacharya Das in North Carolina and Dallas USA to preserve and promote India’s rich classical dance traditions. About the Founder/Artistic Director- Rinku Bhattacharya Das was initiated to the world of Kathak dance by her mother Smt Mallika Bhattacharya disciple of Guru Acchan Maharajji and Guru Laxminarayanji of Gunijankahana Jaipur. Pande at age

5 she continued her training from Smt Bela Arnab (Dean of Kathak dance Rabindra Bharati University). She broadened her understanding of indian classical dance forms by receiving rigorous training in Manipuri Dance from Guru Bipin Singh,Kalavati Devi and Padmashri Darshana Jhaveri. As a solo and a performing artiste in both classical and contemporary art forms she has performed in various prestigious dance programmes and festivals of India and USA. She is currently the Director of Nrityajyoti Dance Academy, North Carolina, USA which is devoted to the dissemination, training and promotion of the classical as well as contemporary performing arts based on Guru Shishya tradition and helps in promoting them internationally. website: rinkubdas.com

Nrityajyoti Dance Academy offers classes to students from kids to adults in Kathak , Manipuri, Kuchipudi and Indian Contemporary dances, It will soon start offering classes on Yoga with movement therapy.

Guru is the One who dispels the darkness of spiritual ignorance in humanity and bestows their experiences and knowledge upon them. Guru is Brahma, who is the Creator of the universe. Guru is Vishnu, who is all-pervasive and the Doer in the universe. Guru is Maheshvara, who commands and ordains everything in the universe properly! I remember and thank all my Gurus today who have inspired and supported me in all my endeavors and helped me to grow as an artist! My pranam to them !

It was not an easy task to direct dances for the huge show "East meets West" presented by Allen Philharmonic in collaboration with my Nrityajyoti Dance Academy! The most difficult challenge for me was to collaborate with Indian local dancers of different genres and schedule rehearsals. Dallas is such a vast region having so many Indian dance artists yet it was difficult to collaborate at times with everyone's busy schedule! Stage rehearsals with a live orchestra were possible only for the last two days before the show! It's not easy to show both technical and expressive pieces on a Symphony orchestra! BUT WE DID IT! Thank you my Guruji Keka Sinha ji for all the guidance and inspiration Thanks to all the dancers of Nrityajyoti dance academy for excellent presentations of Kathak and Manipuri dances! Thanks to Hannah Fisher, Vanitha MD, and Krishnaveni Putrevufor their collaborations. SPECIAL thanks my support to all the volunteers Alisha Chunara Ranjan Nabar Seema Rao and my husband Mrinal K Das who worked so hard to make this program successful! I have received such great reviews from Professors of Universities, Gurus from India, local artists, friends, local radio channels, supporters from both India and the USA, and mainstream audiences that I can only say I am feeling really BLESSED!
