We love our partnership with Solar Soccer Club!! Doing what we can to keep their athletes (and parents😉) healthy and in the game!!
Solar Soccer Club and Texas Health Orthopedic Specialists are collaborating to help create a safe sport environment for athletes. A key component of this is having access to a Certified Athletic Trainer who is trained in injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses. We bring you this highlight of a Texas Health Athletic Trainer who does just that. Ashlyn Peterson, MHA, M.Ed., LAT, ATC works closely with Solar Soccer Club to respond to injury reports from athletes, parents and coaches. Additionally, she is at many club games and rotates each Monday to various practice locations to provide injury assessment and treatment. Ashlyn graduated from Longwood University in Virginia in 2012 with her bachelor’s in athletic training. She then attended Auburn University where she worked with the Warrior Athletic Training Program before graduating with her master’s degree in 2013. She presented a poster presentation at the National Athletic Trainers Association Annual Conference in 2014 and had a paper published in the Journal of Athletic Training in November 2016. Ashlyn moved with her family to Texas and joined Texas Health in November 2023. She is excited for the opportunity to work with Solar Soccer Clubs through Texas Health.
