We bring joy through smiles with braces and aligners for adults, teens, and kids. Hanson Orthodontics of Allen was originally founded by Dr. Karen S. Today, our team is led by Dr. Megan Hanson, an orthodontist in Allen who believes in putting her patients first. She studied dentistry at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston; after graduation, she completed a two-year orthodontic residency in Houston, eventually receiving a Certificate in Orthodontics. She has had her work published in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics and the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics. She is happy to be able to offer her patients a wide range of orthodontic solutions, including traditional braces, self-ligating braces, Invisalign clear aligners, and more. She believes in patient-centered care and will always personalize the treatment she provides to fit your specific needs. I am honored to be one of D Magazine’s Best Dentists in Dallas from nominations of my colleagues. A lot of people don’t realize that orthodontists are dentists too! We become dentists first, then we do additional schooling specifically in orthodontics. A new reason to smile: a new little member of the Hanson family!

On June 22nd, we welcomed our son, Luke Robert Hanson. He’s healthy and loved beyond measure. His big sister, Caroline, has already promoted herself to Chief Pacifier Officer, and we’re loving life as a family of four.

At Hanson Orthodontics, we talk a lot about joyful service to the families we serve, and becoming a mom of two has deepened my appreciation for the trust families place in us.
