I see many things on the internet for weighted blankets, but I am unable to find info from people with the knowledge of what these blankets are to be used for and who should use them.

Kate, I remember from info given to me by another OT friend a few years ago that they were to be weighted between shoulders and hips, but I don't remember how much each blanket should weigh and the weighted blankets I see online are weighted all throughout the blanket and not just in that area.

Can you help?
1. Is it still true that it should be weighted just between the shoulders and hips?
2. How young can you use these blankets?
3. How do you determine how heavy they should be?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I have people asking me to make these, but a little reluctant to make them until I know it would be made to help them and not hurt them.
Do you by chance take CHIPS insurance?

Do you enjoy being around horses and helping others? Can you spare an hour a week?

We're happy to be bringing another new participant into our equine physical therapy program this Fall. In order for us to continue growing and serving others, we need your help. On average, when we add a person, it takes 3 volunteers to help them each week. We can't do this without our community's help! Please spread the word.
