Doing with Restore Skills!

Our resident Marion worked up her strength playing some Hoop and Bowling games using the Restore Skills program. While the "Paint By Numbers Pictures" game may be her favorite, this is a great way to exercise eye hand coordination, fine motor skills, range of motion, and cognition, in a fun, engaging and rewarding activity.

We invite you to read the life-enrichment testimonial of Ms. Patricia Johnston, who shares, "I was recommended Allendale and decided to move in so I could get them help I need. I have to say moving to Allendale was one of the best decisions I have made. The staff and residents are so kind and welcoming. I have to say that activities are some of my favorite things. I have become friends with some of the ladies that like jigsaw puzzles. I have also started crocheting club. Where I am teaching some of my fellow residents.”

Going to the hair salon is one of our residents' favorite activities.

Every Tuesday and Wednesday, they can come in to see Maria, our hair stylist, who receives them with a great smile. Maria has the special touch to connect with her clients whom she considers friends. She not only provides expert hair care, but confidence and happiness.

We had a fun Wimbledon Tennis themed weekend in honor of the Championship Finals!

Our Life Enrichment aide, Sheila led our residents in a Wimbledon word scramble, followed by one of our residents reading a brief history of this grass court tournament. We played a game of Wimbledon Trivia, and enjoyed watching highlights from the tournament!

Finally, residents enjoyed a Wimbledon favorite, strawberries and cream! Chef Rudy and team added a satisfying shortbread base and topped each with a shortbread cookie.
