WEEK 6:
USE FOOD AS FUEL...Maintain a healthy body weight, choosing a diet RICH in vegetables, fiber, and whole foods. Cut out all processed sugar completely (sugar feeds cancer). This will help your thyroid, weight management, candida, and hormone balance.

Recommendation:
*When you're building your plate here's how it should look:
-Your largest portions should be vegetables, and protein.
-Next should be fruit (about half the amount of vegetables).
-Lastly carbs (anti-inflammatory carbs include: gluten free oats, millet, quinoa, sweet potatoes, and wild rice).
*Healthy fats are also essential: between the oils you're using (avocado oil, coconut oil, and true olive oil), and nuts/seeds.
*AVOID hydrogenated oils, GMO'S, preservatives, food coloring, artificial sugar (DIET, and SUGAR FREE foods/drinks)

FASTING can be a powerful tool for improving metabolic health. Here are two different types of fasts you can do to increase health...

INTERMITENT FASTING: Best place to start if you're new to fasting!
-Fast 16 hours, and eat in an 8 hour window.
Example: 11AM-7PM eating window, fast from 7PM-11AM.
*Supports fat loss, and improves insulin sensitivity.

24 HOUR FAST: Promotes cellular cleanup (autophagy), improves metabolic health, improves cellular function, lowers inflammation, and resets the liver & pancreas.
What happens in the body:
*8-12 hours: Blood sugar drops, body burns fat
*12-16 hours: Fat burn increases
*16-24 hours: Autophagy (cell cleanup) may increase
*24+ hours: Growth hormone rises, deeper metabolic reset

Tips for both:
-Stay hydrated (water, electrolytes, black coffee, and unsweetened herbal tea)

SUNLIGHT (Vitamin D) supports a healthier immune function, while improving mood, brain cognition, and your nervous system. Encourages cellular repair, strengthening of bones, and longevity of life. It produces a hormonal signaling that can reduce the risk of some cancer, and promote better sleep (melatonin). For those of us who live in a gloomy state, taking a Vitamin D3 supplement throughout the winter is crucial for health. Also, even if you can't be outside, sit in sunlight for at least 5 minutes a day.

Exercise/Movement releases "feel good" chemicals in the brain that reduce stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression. Based on your physical capabilities, be moving in some capacity everyday. Moving outside is super important for mental, and physical health; benefiting the mind, body, and overall quality of life.

Recommendation:
1. Supports circulation/heart health: Do 20 to 50 jumping jacks, or walking 7-10,000 steps each day!
2. Supports muscle/bone strength: Push ups, Rucking (20-50lb vest), or weight training within your limits.
3. Supports flexibility: Pilates, or yoga.
4. Enhances sleep quality: Stretching, and deep breathing.
