Marquetry quilt stars for my solo show [PLACE]holder at ⚘️✨️

These have birdseye maple, waterfall bubinga, and black walnut burl veneers on solid quilted maple and cherry boards. We had fun figuring these out and I'm excited for the new possibilities incorporating these techniques into future work! I love them and I hope you do too 💕

A sawtooth quilt star/ 8 pointed stars symbolize honor and protection. I've been enjoying the book, American Folk Marquetry- Masterpieces in Wood that I picked up from the when I visited the quilt show there recently. They reference marquetry as 'male quilting', and I've been thinking a lot about the similarities between the two processes from my own perspective as both a woman and a woodworker. I think both wood and fabric are often comforting and warm, both are rooted in repetition and storytelling, and I'm excited to share with you soon how they fit into my show 🥰

Also posting to the feed- stickers available on my website to help raise funds for the legal defense of 5 Quakertown HS kids. On there is more info, links to the g0fundme and email for the DA of Bucks County. This happened 15 minutes from me and these kids are most likely going to face felony charges for the incompetence of the Quakertown chief of police & friends. I'm angry and sad. Thanks so much to everyone who bought one already.

A quick shop update 💘 and a new limited edition shelf in the made to order shop!

Been working on so many new pieces for my solo show; very excited about them all and looking forward to sharing with yall 🥹 Honestly, I've been so lucky to have this show to throw myself into rn and to have something so special to look forward to. I hope that you guys are able to find that too for yourself right now. 36 days until spring ⚘️

2026- off to a rough start.

The thing of it is, I can't stop making things. I want to. Sometimes, all the time. There are days and weeks and months that go by where I dread sitting down to make something. It feels pointless. But I try. And usually when I'm done, I feels better. I try to remind myself, at least I am leaving something beautiful behind in this world. At least I'm trying to contribute the best way I know how. At least I am making something to hold space for honor and remembrance. At least I'm making a placeholder of sorts- a designated place to hold something for you. For whatever you choose. For whatever is important to you. It's never enough, but it's something....right?

My solo show [PLACE]holder at will be up from Saturday, April 18th - Sunday, May 10th with the show reception on Friday, May 1st from 5pm - 9pm

Glad to see ya 2026

Just finished listing whatever inventory I had left over from various holiday escapades. Really looking forward to January and making new work. Treated myself to this new .easterbrook candle holder (I'm in love).

Will be working on my solo show at for the next few months (I'm estatic- will share more soon)

2025- the year I almost quit & the year I'm really glad I didn't

December shop update(s)!

Website update! Tomorrow, Tuesday December 9th at 7pm ET 🌟

And hopefully one more additional online update before the December 17th USPS shipping deadline, of more small things only (ornaments, frames, quilt stars, etc.)

I've been working away making new stuff, freezing my butt off in the woodshop, and being kept up all night by my foster kittens. Tis the season. I love you all. 2026 is gonna be a good one.

It feels really surreal to have some work in this show next to so many artists I've admired for so very long 🥹 thanks for having me 🩷 and make sure yall check out the exhibition, so many amazing pieces and talent all in one place

Friends at the party got to see this piece first 🌙

Not sure what to title it yet- let me know your ideas 🫠 but I've been thinking a lot about mapping recently, and drawing relationships between motifs from sewn quilts and embroidery patterns to spacial awareness and the physical world.

Trying to make more 'art' is hard, but I'm pushing myself and trying. It's challenging for me to describe all the things that I think about when it comes to making. Words are hard. It's not that I don't think of my shelves as art, because I do... it's hard for me to verbalize what the change I'm wanting to do is- is the word non-functional? Pieces made with more intention? Because everything I make has intention... so this is how it goes, round and round in my head, jfc someone get me out of the hellhole that is my brain

I've been enjoying the last of my flowers and the rush before the respite that comes with this time of the year. Thinking a lot about new work I want to make and trying to make space and time for that.
