Winter slump? Move your body! It’s one of the best mood-boosters out there. Staying active releases endorphins (hello, natural happiness), lowers cortisol to ease stress and anxiety, and helps regulate serotonin + dopamine to fight the winter blues.
Bonus: exercise boosts focus and creativity, improves sleep by balancing melatonin, and even supports heart health + immunity. If you can get outside, that natural light is a game-changer during short days. Little movement = big mental health wins.

💡Trivia Tuesday: The NeuroStar TMS Therapy system is the first TMS device to be cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of major depression. Treatment with NeuroStar TMS Therapy causes very few side effects and is generally well tolerated by patients. The most common side effect reported during clinical trials was scalp discomfort—generally mild to moderate and occurring less frequently after the first week of treatment.

When college students come home for the holidays, it’s a great time for parents to check in gently and offer support. Big transitions can bring on stress, anxiety, or depression, even in students who’ve never struggled before.
✅Watch for warning signs like withdrawal, hopelessness, or major mood changes
✅Model healthy coping like calm problem-solving, and talking openly about stress
✅Keep communication low-pressure
✅If you’re worried, encourage them to talk with a therapist or campus counseling when they return

Most of all, being present, supportive, and compassionate can make home feel like a real reset

Thinking about TMS?
Here’s what to expect at TMS Center of the Lehigh Valley: you’ll start with a consult to review symptoms and history, then a first “mapping” visit to set treatment placement and strength. Sessions are 37 minutes, you’re awake the whole time so you can relax, even watch TV, or listen to music. It just feels like light tapping with a clicking sound. Afterward, you can return to normal activities, even drive yourself home. Side effects are usually mild (brief scalp irritation or headache). Most depression plans run 5 days/week for 4–6 weeks with regular check-ins.
If you’ve been looking for a treatment that fits into real life, TMS might be worth exploring. 💛

National Comfort Food Day 🍴
Ever wonder why we reach for comfort food when we’re stressed, bored, or down? 🍪🧠 While most comfort foods are dishes that provide a feeling of nostalgia, safety, and well-being, some people may be expecting food to help manage negative emotions, relieve boredom, or give a mental “boost.” Comfort food isn’t just about tasting good — it’s often used as a tool to cope with feelings or low-energy moments. Noticing what you’re hoping food will fix can be a helpful first step toward healthier ways of supporting your mood. 💛✨
