Dr. Marsha A. Gordon

Through Dr. Marsha Gordon’s dental training at the Medical College of Virginia’s School of Dentistry, she realized the joy she could bring her young patients after performing a routine cleaning and presenting them a prize for their efforts (sugar free, of course). As a result, Dr. Gordon has spent her entire career ensuring that every child receives specialized individual attention that ensures fundamental dental health. Her dedication to patient care has not gone unnoticed both locally and nationally as “Lehigh Valley’s Select Dentist” and “TopDentist.” Dr. Gordon, furthermore, continues to hold the position of Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry as well as a long-standing member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition, Dr. Gordon is also the chairman of Pediatric Dentistry at Lehigh Valley Hospital Network. Beyond her private practice experience, Dr. Gordon currently aids on numerous volunteer initiatives including: the Autism Walk & dental education in local area schools. Dr. Gordon was also recently offered two prestigious grants: (1) involves a collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry with the Head Start of the Lehigh Valley; and (2) partners with the State of Pennsylvania Medical and Dental Community with a program entitled, Healthy Teeth/Healthy Children. Dr. Gordon received her Bachelor’s degree from Goucher College, her Doctorate of Dental Sciences and her certification in Pediatric Dentistry from the Medical College of Virginia. Along with her husband, David, Dr. Gordon remains a long-time resident of Allentown with three grown children: Michael, Steven, and Harris (all of whom regularly brush their teeth twice a day after years of successful encouragement from their mother).

Dental sealants are like a little shield for your child’s teeth. They help protect permanent molars from cavities and can lower the risk of tooth decay by up to 80 percent. Sealants are quick, painless, and a great way to help keep growing smiles healthy and strong!

Brushing should feel easy and comfortable! Plaque is soft, so there is no need to scrub hard to get a great clean. A gentle touch helps protect enamel and keeps gums happy. Your toothpaste already does the hard work, so relax, brush gently, and enjoy that fresh, clean smile!

Oranges can be a smart snack choice for kids, especially during flu season. They are rich in vitamin C, which supports the immune system and helps keep gums healthy. Oranges also provide calcium, an important nutrient for strong teeth. While they offer plenty of benefits, they do contain natural sugars, so moderation is key. Enjoy them as part of a balanced diet and remember to brush well afterward to keep smiles healthy!

Did you know that things like certain foods, medications, and even dry mouth can contribute to bad breath? While occasional morning breath is normal, frequent dry mouth can sometimes signal bigger oral health concerns, including early gum issues. If your child seems to have ongoing bad breath, it may be time for a quick check. We’re always happy to take a look and help keep their smile feeling fresh and healthy!
