18 years ago today I graduated with my diploma for therapeutic massage and bodywork. One of the best and fulfilling things I’ve ever done. Thanks to my momma ❤️ for pushing my butt into that career. Who would have ever thought I’d have been able to do this for 18 years and have my own business for just shy of 6 1/2 years. Thank you to my momma, my family and friends and of course to all of my wonderful clients who have kept me going. I know some of you would find me if I retired hahaha.

Hi everyone. I have an important announcement. Starting September 9th, I will be taking on a new role. I have agreed to a contract to become a health and phys ed teacher for the Reading School district. Although I’ll be taking the position, I will not be closing my office. I’ll be switching my hours to Monday through Wednesday from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. It’s already been changed in massagebook. I will be rotating some weekend hours as well and they will be posted on my social media. For the time being, I will not be taking any new clients. If you have any questions, please reach out.

Did you know massage is not only beneficial physically but mentally as well? From the Mayo Clinic: “A one-hour massage lowers cortisol in your body while also releasing serotonin. This hormone neurotransmitter is sometimes called the “happy chemical” because it reduces feelings of depression and carries signals between nerves and your body. By lowering cortisol and increasing serotonin, you’re boosting your body’s ability to fight off pain, anxiety and feelings of sadness.” (https://www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org/hometown-health/speaking-of-health/massage-for-depression-anxiety-and-stress)

Got my first CEU’s of the year and added a new tool to the repertoire. Gua sha or metal scraping will be added to the menu. Gua sha is a technique used to help break up inflammation. Some “bruising” or redness may occur.

It’s that time of year again. For the past 7 years I have participated in the American Cancer Bike-A-Thon and this year my plans are to ride the 100 miles again. I also make a donation through massages. From the beginning of April through Mother’s Day, I donate $5 from each massage to the foundation. This is in honor of my mom who made sure she could donate to the ACS. Make sure to book your appointment ahead of time because days are filling up quickly. Come in, relax and help out those who are fighting against cancer. Below is also my link for my page for the ride.

I’m supporting the American Cancer Society to honor those touched by cancer by raising funds for groundbreaking research. Support me.

About the therapist

Hi and thank you for visiting my page. I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I have been a massage therapist for 11 years and I am licensed with the state of Pennsylvania, I’ve had an interest in the muscles of the body for years as I started lifting in 1996 for the sports that I played. I graduated from Kutztown University in 2004 with a Bachelors in psychology and in 2007 I graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute with a 4.0 GPA. I started off my career working with a chiropractor where I learned how to isolate certain areas of the body to maximize the massage. From 2009 on, I have worked at 3 spas that helped me work on my craft.

I have learned to take into account the daily activities of each of my clients and break them down into posture and movement to help my client get the best result for the individual. I customize pressure, technique, and temperature to help client relax. I enjoy educating my clients on ways to help with the benefits of massage.
