If you're floating for the first time or new to floating, you may be wondering if it's best to have the pod open or closed? And what's the difference?
Both options offer deep relaxation, and the most important thing is that you feel comfortable. That said, if you're able to, we gently encourage trying your float with the lid closed to experience floating in its purest form that enhances the benefits.
With the lid open:
A reassuring option for first-time floaters or anyone feeling a little unsure about enclosed spaces.
You're always free to begin open and close the lid later once you feel relaxed.
Even open, the water still supports your body, easing tension and promoting calm.
With the lid closed:
The space becomes dark, quiet, and cocoon-like, reducing outside distractions and allowing your nervous system to truly settle.
The warmth stays consistent, helping your body soften more deeply into the water.
With fewer sensory cues, many people find it easier to let go and drift into a calm, meditative state.
There's no right or wrong way to float and only what feels right for you.
But when you're ready, closing the lid can be the moment everything else fades away.
In the end, you have total control. You can have the lights on or off. You can have the lid open or closed. Whatever feels right for you.
