Friday September 19, 2025 is National Foot Drop Awareness Day.

Foot drop is a condition where the muscles that lift the front part of the foot weaken or become paralyzed. This leads to difficulty in raising the foot off the ground while walking.

Common Causes:
Nerve damage (e.g., trauma, stroke, multiple sclerosis)
Muscle disorders (e.g., polio, muscular dystrophy)
Peripheral neuropathy (e.g., diabetes, alcoholism)
