Today is world IVF Day. Celebrating the first baby born in 1978 as a result of groundbreaking science and technology that allows couples with fertility obstacles to grow their families

This September it will be 23 YEARS since I used IVF to conceive my rainbow bebes

After 3 heartbreaking miscarriages Q and X made me a mom.

I remember seeing the pic of their embryos and thinking I am having both of these babies

So much has changed since 2003.

Now fertility clinics recommend Acupuncture - the clinic I went to told me I was crazy when I asked if getting Acupuncture would help (I knew it would)

I actually work at in Marlton using the same procedure I did on myself IN MY CAR before and after my own embryo transfer! Back then the protocol was so new most fertility clinics didn’t acknowledge the validity of the study.

Thank you to all the Drs, scientists, nurses who made IVF possible.

And thank you to all the patients who allow me to be part of their fertility journey (IVF or not)!

When you make your health a priority -it improved so many other aspects of your life.

And let’s face it - I am guilty of this myself 🫣

I put others before myself all too often.

I set boundaries and then throw them out the window

I give others advice that I don’t think I’m worthy of heeding.

I put myself on the back burner

I take care of others’ physical and emotional well being before my own 🫣

So as I continue to try and make a commitment to my physical and emotional well being, I invite you to do the same and take care of your health

Last week I finished What I ate in one year by

I listened to the audiobook because duh it’s Stanley Tucci reading you his words with his emotions and of course that is the only way I want to absorb that information

I’ve loved Stanley Tucci since seeing him as Morty in Undercover Blues

Anyway I really love this quote. It reminds me of the saying about when you have more than enough you build a larger table

And as a fellow Italian - food brings people together

Anyway Stanley - if you and Felicity need your own personal Acupuncturist - I’m willing to relocate!

My current mood is overwhelm, I don’t know the best way I can work to preserve rights.

I fear for my kiddos rights in addition to my own.

I fear for my rights as someone with a dynamic disability and what often falls under the category of invisible disability.

I fear for my friends with disabilities and my friends with children and adult children with disabilities, and my patients with disabilities

I fear for my LGBTQIA+ family members, friends, and patients

I fear for so much - and it’s that much harder in these months that my depression spikes

There is no freedom for me without freedom for all

I’m less and less proud to be an American every day and wonder what my immigrant great grandparents would think right now about this county they came to

So forgive me for not feeling like there’s anything to celebrate today
