Continuing our summer sponsorship with the Washington Wild Things - Dr Megan and our Office Manager, Laura, spent some time this morning volunteering at the stadium. Over 1000 kids came in to see the Wild Things play this morning. What we didn't know was that it was Water Fun Day!!! LOL. Water guns and water balloons were everywhere! Hoping the kids all enjoy the day and we are looking forward to our next adventure at the stadium.

Tip Tuesday!!! Reusing last years Tip Tuesday because its so important for 4th of July week!!!

Fireworks can range decibel levels of 78–175dB, depending on the type of firework and how close you are to it. This is louder than a jet engine and can cause permanent hearing damage, such as tinnitus or noise-induced hearing loss, if you're too close for too long.
The World Health Organization recommends that adults shouldn't be exposed to more than 140 decibels, and children shouldn't be exposed to more than 120 decibels.
Here are some tips to protect your hearing from fireworks:
-Increase distance
The farther away you are from the fireworks, the lower the decibel level. For example, if a firework explodes at 170 decibels, you should stand 15–20 meters away to be at a safe distance.
-Take breaks
Limit the amount of time you're exposed to loud noises by taking regular breaks.
-Use hearing protection, just like Dr. Megan's son Jake is demonstrating.
Earplugs or earmuffs can reduce the impact of loud noises on your ears, especially for children.

Dr. Lauren Fitzpatrick is a clinical Audiologist who has been with Swift Audiology for 5 years now. She sees patients in the North Hills office. What she loves most about working for Swift Audiology is the quality time she gets with patients. Swift allows her to spend the time she needs with patients to ensure the best care possible. She never feels rushed, and she is able to build the relationships and trust that is essential during the hearing aid fitting process.

What do you like to do in your free time? I just had a baby girl in February, so most of my free time playing with her and watching her grow. I also like to cook and enjoy physical activity (hiking, walking, spin class, etc)

Do you have any pets? I have a 7-year-old light grey tabby named Evie (she is THE BOSS) 🐈
I also have a 4-year-old cattle dog mix named Luna (she is so sweet and very energetic) 🐕

It’s a hot one at EQT stadium for today’s Wild Things Game!! We enjoyed meeting everyone pregame at our table! Seasonal Allergies and Your Ears
It's peak allergy season in Pennsylvania! Did you know allergens can cause a sense of fullness and discomfort in your ears? They increase congestion and inflammation in your eustachian tubes, which connect the middle ear to the back of your throat and equalize pressure. Blocked eustachian tubes can lead to pressure or fluid buildup. If your ears feel full, consult a medical provider to determine the cause. If allergies are to blame, you and your doctor can create an effective allergy management plan with antihistamines, decongestants, nasal corticosteroids, or allergy shots.
