So I’m on a walk, talking to Jesus.
Faith and doubt are to sides of a coin. And coins flip all the time.
I read the Psalms and see where King David is struggling with doubt and then flips it to faith.
I see Peter with faith that none of us can boast, walking on water, and then moments later he’s doubting having seen the waves. Later he’s telling Jesus I’ll never deny you! I read the rooster crows three times. Then he’s building the church!!!
Flip, flip, flip.
Then there’s me, there’s Michal.
There’s us all.
Faith and Doubt are two sides of a coin. If you don’t doubt, ever doubt, perhaps you’re super blessed, but perhaps you’re pretending.
Pretending you’ve got it all together.
Today is blood draw day. Michal and I go into it with faith and being brutally honest with Jesus now, doubt is creeping in as well. I’m a human being and I ain’t Peter.
And while I believe with all my heart God has indicated to us he desires to heal Michal, and I know he can, somehow, there is doubt running right on the other side of my coin.
So Jesus and I have been talking about all the things.
And what did he say?
Well my cranium was filled with the story of Elisha sitting at home with his servant. And his servant was looking out at the city border, looking at a Syrian army 125,000 strong. And he was scared.
That army was there to get Elisha. You see Elisha had been supernaturally hearing the plans of the king of Syria, and that wasn’t going well for Syria. The king found out it was Elisha that was foiling his plans and sent his army to stop it.
Elisha said to his servant, "Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them".
Well Elisha prayed that his servants eyes would be opened. And the servant saw a fiery angel army and chariots surrounding the Syrians.
Elisha then prayed the Syrians would be blinded, they were, and then he lead all 125,000 of them to the king of Israel.
Interestingly, once with the king of Israel, he had a banquet prepared for the enemy and then He sent the enemy packing for home!
I think Jesus showed me that he can defeat the enemy with no army at all, but with his Angel Armies, and our prayers, your prayers!
I took this photo just after thinking about those Angel armies surrounding the Syrians.
I choose to think of this sun set as our Angel Armies! For those who are with us are greater than those who are with them!
Flipped back to Faith!
Thank you Jesus!
