Last week 3 of the public health employees were honored by the Board of Supervisors for their dedication to the health department. Those employees are: Susan Stirling, RN for 10 years of service, Cindy DeWitt, RN for 20 years of service and JenniferBecker, RN for 31 years of service.

That's all of us that occupy the EMA/Public Health Building at 610 Oak St in Allison. The honorary members are their own departments but we all share the building and interact with each other daily. We all have each others backs!

Our final honorary public health staff person is Chris Showalter. Chris is the Butler County Emergency Manager. He has worked for Butler County since 2018. Chris ensures that all of us our safe during hazardous weather or situations and makes sure the first responders have everything they need. Chris lives in Dumont with his wife, Tanya. They have 2 children and 1 grandchild.

Our next honorary public health staff person is Jen Nichols, EMT-A. Jen is a Butler County Emergency Medical Services employee and has been with that department since February 2025. Jen will be covering the evening hours Monday - Thursday to ensure emergency medical services are available if needed. Jen lives hear Shell Rock with her husband, Kent. They have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.

Our first honorary public health staff member is Kari Coates, EMT-P. Kari is the Butler County Emergency Medical Services Coordinator. Kari has been in her position since August 2023. Kari is passionate about EMS and making sure all county residents have access to emergency medical care. Kari lives near New Hartford with her husband, Kenny, and their 2 children.

Amber Foster is a home care aide who sees patients all over Butler County. She has been with the department since 2023. She assists home health patients to stay in their home as long as they safely can. She lives near Bristow with her husband, Josh, and their 2 children.

Our newest home care aide is Shanda Boehnke. Shanda has been with the department since March 2025. We are glad she joined our team as she is a great addition and fits in wonderfully! Shanda has completed orientation and is seeing patients where she is needed. Shanda lives in Dumont with her husband, Ted, and their 4 kids.
