Imagine Possibilities

Imagine Possibilities We imagine possibilities every day for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities!

IMAGINE POSSIBILITIES is licensed by the State of Oregon to provide services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Founded in 1959, by pioneering families within the community, we celebrate a relentless progressive spirit of wanting meaningful opportunities for our participants, everyday. We believe everyone is an individual, is a vital member of our community, and has a lifetime of limitless potential. No achievement is too small and every achievement is a step toward another. Our progressive programs are designed to give individuals an environment for growth on a personal level. We provide an array of services including but not limited to flexible adult and child daytime respite care, one-on-one education, volunteer opportunities in the community, summer camp, daycare, recreation, and advocacy. We provide an alternate to employment in which people can be active and have independent companionship outside of the family environment during the day. We have a large fenced yard with swings that can accommodate wheelchairs, a dedicated and compassionate staff, a building with an environment designed to soothe participants needing structured peace, and great big facility that is secure and filled with laughter and joy.

🚧 Big changes are underway at Imagine Possibilities! Our old garage is coming down to make way for a secure new space for our fleet of vehicles. Reliable transportation helps the individuals we serve stay connected to their community, attend programs, and enjoy meaningful outings. We’re excited to take this next step—and grateful for the community that helps make improvements like this possible. šŸ’™

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. Each component of the flag symbolizes something unique within the disability community. The black field represents the mourning for those with disabilities who have suffered or lost their lives due to violence, negligence, su***de and/ or eugenics. The parallel stripes represent solidarity within the disability community. The five colors represent the diversity of experiences within the disability community: red – physical disabilities, gold – cognitive and intellectual disabilities, white – invisible and undiagnosed disabilities, blue – psychiatric disabilities, and green – sensory disabilities. https://bit.ly/DD-awareness-month

Here’s a glimpse of our adventures last week!
We enjoyed browsing books at the Beaverton Library before heading to Kingpins for some bowling fun. Rain or shine, we love getting out and exploring our community.

The Old Econoline Has Retired šŸššŸ’™

After more than 20 years and countless miles, our trusty passenger van has officially been put out to pasture. It carried participants on journeys near and far and holds so many memories.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we’re excited to welcome a new 2023 Ford Transit—ready to safely and comfortably transport our amazing people throughout the Portland metro area and beyond.

Here’s to new journeys, greater reach, and a future full of possibilities. Thank you for driving this success with us!

We’re staying busy, staying active, and having a whole lot of fun—especially last week during music class, which turned into a full-on dance party with so many participants joining the fun! šŸŽ¶šŸ’ƒšŸ•ŗ
