Patients receiving chemotherapy and other infusion treatments at the Alpena Cancer Center will now experience greater comfort, warmth and dignity thanks to the support of local donors to MyMichigan Health Foundation. Because of the community’s generosity, the Foundation recently supplied the Cancer Center with specialized port shirts designed to make treatment sessions easier and more comfortable for patients.

Losing a loved one is never easy. Losing a child, devastating.

Kenny Abel knew he needed help but was hurting too much to know where to begin. Crippled by grief, anxiety and depression after the loss of his daughter Juliana, he struggled to function. His therapist, Delaney Dupuis, recommended he participate in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. The people Abel met there and skills he learned have changed his life.
