Hello! I am embarking on my third month in my new role as CEO of Sunrise Centre. I appreciate the warm welcome and the support in getting acclimated to this new position. I am actively pursuing funds needed to support the building of a new facility. I know every day individuals and families in our community struggle with substance use disorder. I also know recovery IS possible when compassionate, evidence-based care is available.

Unfortunately, the need for treatment far exceeds the resources we currently have. I, along with many other committed individuals in our community our working to change that. The success of our capital campaign will secure our ability to build a new facility designed to restore hope, rebuild lives, and strengthen our community. Every dollar moves us closed to opening our doors and saving lives.

Our inpatient treatment program includes a heavy schedule of group therapy. It is intensive and topics can be heavy. We like to weave in lighter activities to ensure people have space and time to process and opportunities to have fun/enjoy themselves. Today, our case manager baked and decorated holiday cookies with everyone and they loved it. Yumm.

You can still make a donation to Sunrise Treatment and Recovery Centre through the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan website! They are keeping this GivingTuesday page open through the 9th to ensure as much support can be gathered as possible.

Oh no! Did you miss Giving Tuesday? Don’t sweat it. Donations on any day of the year to the nonprofits doing great work in our communities make a difference. And good news! We are keeping our Giving Tuesday one-stop donation page open for another week to make giving back and giving local as easy as leftover holiday pie. Give at cfnem.org.
