Seeing a loved one go from sitting on the couch in his sweats to living with purpose, renewed self-esteem, and dignity can be life-changing. My wife and I faced this decision ourselves, moving him into a community where he could truly thrive.

In this clip, I share how that experience motivated us to help other families navigate elder care with confidence and compassion.

If you’re facing a similar decision, my messages are always open. I’m here to guide your family through it with care and clarity.

On February 5, I attended the Fulton County Senior Services Partners meeting and thoroughly enjoyed hearing Director Ladisa Onyiliogwu share, with real passion and clarity, the scope and impact of Fulton County’s Senior Services programs for older adults across the county.

Many people don’t realize how comprehensive their support is. Fulton County Senior Services provides:

• Senior centers offering daily programming, education, and social connection
• Home-delivered and congregate meal programs
• Transportation assistance for seniors
• Health, wellness, and fitness programs
• In-home and community-based support services that help older adults remain safe and independent

The meeting was hosted by Heather Terry with Senior Services North Fulton, and breakfast was generously sponsored by Nylander Grandville with Cornerstone Caregiving of Alpharetta, and you can’t go wrong with Chick-fil-A to start the morning.

Fulton County is truly exceptional in the level of support it provides older adults, and our community is better because of it. We’re fortunate to have these resources and the leaders behind them.

Celebrating great communities like this, and helping families understand their options, is why I love what I do, more here: https://seniorcareauthority.com/

Grief can look different when a loved one has dementia. It’s not about losing them in the moment; it’s about the changes, the memories, and the life you imagined together.

This past weekend, I attended the Polar Bear Plunge hosted by the Rotary Club of Alpharetta, and I have nothing but respect for the brave souls who jumped into 40-degree water for a cause they believe in.

Participants raised donations for their charities of choice and then proved their courage the cold, hard way. I’m very happy to donate — because I know my limits. It takes me a full 10 minutes to get into 80-degree water. Forty? Not happening.

Huge shout-out to my good friends Mike Breit, and Joseph Powell, who took the plunge in support of Revved Up Kids. And special recognition to Michael Breit, truly the host with the most, who did a terrific job running the event and keeping the energy high.

Afterward, the Alpharetta Business Association hosted a chili cookoff, which was the perfect follow-up to thaw everyone out. I sampled every entry, and honestly, they were all excellent.

Great people, great causes, great community.

Always glad to connect families with trusted communities — more about my approach here: https://seniorcareauthority.com/

I had the pleasure of attending a recent SRANA networking event hosted at Vitality Living of Milton, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Great turnout, meaningful conversations, and a true sense of partnership across our senior care community.

I want to give a special shout-out to the team there — this is a community I am always confident referring families to, and events like this reinforce why.

Their leadership and staff make a real difference:

• Executive Director Sandra Spencer brings steady, relatable leadership and is a consistently strong communicator. Her four years of tenure speaks volumes about both her commitment and the culture she’s helped build.

• Memory Care Director Kylie Rodgers Ball is award-winning for a reason — incredibly creative, deeply engaged, and intentional about keeping residents active, involved, and connected. You can feel the positive energy in her neighborhood.

• Anita Glenn and Elaine Harris approach families as advisors, not salespeople — which immediately puts people at ease and builds trust.

• Janesha Johnson keeps the business office running with excellence and professionalism — the kind of behind-the-scenes strength every great community needs.

Grateful for their hospitality and for the work they do every day to support older adults and their families. Always glad to support and recommend this community.

Senior Placement Services & Elder Care Consulting

Christopher and Daryl Lyboldt have a passion for working with seniors. Their journey began 17 years ago, as Daryl’s father followed them on several corporate relocations. For six of those years Bob required daily care, and eventually, Christopher and Daryl experienced the complexity of finding and funding the ideal senior care community for Bob. Daryl and Christopher became fixtures at that community, getting to know each of the residents, and getting to know the management as though they were family.
