Acetaminophen remains a safe, trusted option for pain relief during pregnancy. Despite recent unfounded claims, there’s no clear evidence linking prudent use to issues with fetal development. ACOG's guidance remains the same. When pain relief is needed during pregnancy, acetaminophen should be used in moderation, and after consulting your doctor.

August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day — a time to honor lives lost, support those left behind, and commit to change.

We must break the stigma, start real conversations, and push for prevention, education, and compassion.

💜Every life matters.

✨ Around 28 weeks, there are two important parts of routine prenatal care that help keep both you and your baby safe:

1️⃣ The 1-hour glucose challenge test – a screening for gestational diabetes. Your provider will give you a sweet drink, and your blood sugar will be checked one hour later. No special prep is needed unless your office tells you otherwise, but having a balanced meal beforehand (not high in sugar or carbs) may help you feel better during the test. Some women may be asked to complete this screening earlier in pregnancy based on risk factors.

2️⃣ The TDaP vaccine – recommended in every pregnancy between 27–36 weeks. This protects your baby against whooping cough (pertussis) during those first vulnerable months of life before they can be fully vaccinated.

💡 Both of these steps are quick, safe, and an important way to support your baby’s health. If you have questions about what to expect, your OB team is always here to guide you.

Many women in midlife find themselves suddenly struggling with weight gain, fatigue, and brain fog. It’s common to seek out extensive blood work, hoping for a hidden diagnosis and quick fix. But most of the time, what you’re experiencing isn’t an illness at all — it’s a normal, physiologic transition of perimenopause or menopause. The truth is, blood work rarely provides the answers, and there isn’t a single pill or test that solves it.

The real path forward? Lifestyle changes.

The majority of women feel stronger, clearer, more energized, and more in control of their weight when they focus on sustainable shifts in nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management.
