It’s 🧬
This week, Dr. Hayden explains ApoE4—sometimes called the “Alzheimer’s gene.” But here’s the catch: ApoE4 is about more than Alzheimer’s risk.
Think of cholesterol like salad being cleared from a bowl:
🥗 ApoE3 = normal tongs that pick up and clear cholesterol well.
🍴 ApoE4 = smaller tongs that leave more behind.
That leftover cholesterol can contribute to plaque buildup and brain risks.
But Alzheimer’s risk isn’t just about one gene. Inflammation, oxidative stress, and other genetic variations all matter too. That’s why we look at the whole picture before designing a personalized care plan.
