2045 Comprehensive Plan- Upcoming Public Meetings

Your voice matters, and we’re listening. Hundreds of residents have already taken the 2045 Comprehensive Plan survey and showed up to early meetings to share thoughtful input about Alpharetta’s future. Now we’re building on that feedback, and we want you at the table for the next step.

These are open-house style meetings, so drop in during the session that works best for you. Review draft concepts, talk directly with the planning team, ask questions, and help shape the priorities that will guide Alpharetta through 2045. These meetings are where input is reviewed, documented, and used to inform real decisions.

What Is the Comprehensive Plan Update?

It is a community driven roadmap for Alpharetta’s future. The Comprehensive Plan Update refreshes the City’s long-range vision using current data and resident feedback to guide growth, development, mobility, and community character through 2045. It also meets state requirements that keep Alpharetta eligible for critical funding and turns community priorities into clear, actionable steps.

The intersection of McGinnis Ferry Road and Windward Concourse will be closed from November 5 through December 5 for work on the Georgia Department of Transportation SR 400 Interchange Improvement Project.

The project will build a new interchange at SR 400 and McGinnis Ferry Road to improve traffic flow and safety, reduce congestion near Windward and McFarland Parkways, and add new sidewalks and multi-use paths.

Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes during the closure.

Alpharetta is growing, and how we grow over the next 20 years will shape the places we live, work, and play. To guide this growth, the City is updating its Comprehensive Plan, now called the 2045 Comprehensive Plan. This community-driven blueprint will direct decisions on housing, transportation, the economy, and overall quality of life, helping ensure Alpharetta remains a great place for everyone.

Your ideas matter. Residents, business owners, and community members are invited to share thoughts, ask questions, and help guide the city’s next chapter at our first open house-style meeting.

Attend on Tuesday, November 11 at the time that works best for you—either during lunch from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. or in the evening from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Both sessions will be held in the Community Room at Alpharetta City Hall at (2 Park Plaza).

School’s started, and traffic near Alpharetta’s schools is picking up again. Drivers, please remember to slow down during morning and afternoon hours when passing through these areas.

As a reminder, the City of Alpharetta uses speed cameras to enforce school zone limits and enhance student safety. Cameras are currently active around six schools and will be monitoring speeds to help keep everyone safe.

Alpharetta Elementary School
• 6:55 am to 7:55 am and 2:05 pm to 3:05 pm
• Speed Limit During Enforcement: 25 miles per hour
• Speed Limit Other Times: 35 miles per hour

Alpharetta High School
• 7:35 am to 8:35 am and 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm
• Speed Limit During Enforcement: 25 miles per hour
• Speed Limit Other Times: 40 miles per hour

Creek View Elementary School
• 6:55 am to 7:55 am and 2:05 pm to 3:05 pm
• Speed Limit During Enforcement: 25 miles per hour
• Speed Limit Other Times: 40 miles per hour

Haynes Bridge Middle School
• 8:10 am to 9:10 am and 3:50 pm to 4:50 pm
• Speed Limit During Enforcement: 25mph
• Speed Limit Other Times: 45mph

Manning Oaks Elementary School
• 6:55 am to 7:55 am and 2:05 pm to 3:05 pm
• Speed Limit During Enforcement: 25 miles per hour

Webb Bridge Middle School
• 8:10 am to 9:10 am and 3:50 pm to 4:50 pm
• Speed Limit During Enforcement: 25 miles per hour
• Speed Limit Other Times: 40 miles per hour

Violations are issued in accordance with Georgia Code O.C.G.A. § 40-14-18, which allows for the use of automated speed detection devices in school zones from one hour prior to the start of the school day, until one hour after the end of the school day. This includes "the time in which instructional classes are taking place." The posted times regulate the strictness of the enforcement, as that is when children are actively coming and going from the school.
