Do you get leg cramps at night? According to the American Family Physician, 50-60% of adults report having nocturnal leg cramps, and the frequency increases with age. This study examined the effect of vitamin K2 on the frequency, intensity, and length of leg cramps in a population of adults aged 65 and older. About half the group got 180mcg of K2 and the other half did not. The vitamin K2 group had 2.6 weekly episodes of cramps compared to the control at 2.71. After eight weeks, the vitamin K2 group decreased to 0.96 weekly episodes (64%) and the control group went up to 3.63 episodes. But dont just rush out to get a vitamin K2 supplement. My suggestion is to get more vitamin K from nature - organic collard greens, mustard greens, broccoli, lettuce, carrots, celery.

What are optimal TSH levels? Do you have any of these symptoms? Fatigue/weakness, cold hands/feet, weight gain, hair loss, or dry skin. Have you gone to the doctor only for them to tell you that your blood work looks great, but you still feel bad? The typical reference range for TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone) is generally between 0.4 and 4.5 mIU/L. So if it falls within that reference range, your doctor will tell you that it's fine. However, optimal reference ranges for TSH is between 0.4 and 2. Additionally, most medical doctors will not test for thyroid antibodies either. Thyroid antibodies could be elevated for years, and can be very helpful in pointing to your problem. So, if you have these symptoms, I highly encourage you to advocate for yourself to get these tests done. Get a full thyroid panel with antibodies and if your medical doctor won't do it you can always order the tests yourself.

Every person on the planet should learn about the incredible healing properties of food. It should be taught to us in our first years in school. When food and herbs (or supplements) are combined, I have seen people heal from virtually every health problem on the planet.

Did you know that 68% of the worlds population is lactose intolerant? 2 segments of our population that are especially intolerant are asians and black folks. Lactose is a sugar found in dairy products. When it doesn't break down it sits in the intestines and rots producing bloating, diarrhea, smelly gas, abdominal pain and nausea. The easier way to remedy this when eating dairy is with an enzyme pill like lactaid. But lactaid has lots of suspect binders and fillers. I use Enzycore from Standard Process, which is much cleaner. But, what I really tell my patients that have health problems is to avoid dairy completely. Dairy is on my nasty nine food list of things I don't see contribute to good health. Across the board, my patients have told me how much better they feel not consuming dairy, including yogurt.

Do you have hypothyroidism and have seen low Alkaline Phosphatase show up in your blood work? ALP is an essential enzyme found in the bones, liver, and kidneys, playing a crucial role in bone health and metabolism. When ALP levels are low, it may signal an underlying issue—like hypothyroidism, which slows down metabolism and affects enzyme production. This can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, brittle nails, hair loss, joint pain, and even poor wound healing. Since ALP is a zinc-dependent enzyme, low levels may also indicate a zinc deficiency, which is common in people with thyroid dysfunction. This study showed that “a significant decrease in Zn and Mg was observed in low ALP cases when compared with control. If you or someone you know has thyroid issues, check your ALP levels and perhaps start getting more zinc and magnesium.

The salty flavor purges, softens accumulations, and helps to detoxify. We get a lot of minerals from salty things. Salty is the flavor that is responsible for anchoring, settling, and calming the mind and spirit. Salty things are esteemed for their ability to support mental health concerns. Salty flavor can help the body to dissolve stagnation. Stagnation is when things are not moving. When things don’t move in the body, they slow down, and can form nodules, which would be fibroids, cysts and tumors. Seaweed and kelp in the ancient texts are thermally cold and known to disperse or break up nodules. Studies have shown that Asian cultures that consume seaweed have far less incidents of cancer.

You may have seen Mel Gibson on Joe Rogan recently talking about how ivermectin and fenbendazole and melatonin, both antiparasitic drugs, “cured” 3 of his friends of cancer. The title of this review - “Ivermectin, a potential anticancer drug derived from an antiparasitic drug” showed that “Ivermectin effectively suppresses the proliferation and metastasis of cancer cells and promotes cancer cell death at doses that are nontoxic to normal cells.” Dr. William Makis, MD posted how he used the following regiment to heal stage 4 renal cancer. He used Ivermectin 1mg/kg/day, increased within 3 weeks to 2mg/kg/day, Fenbendazole 1000mg/day, Melatonin 300mg/day. Here’s the deal. Don't make these things into saviors. These things may be extremely helpful, but there is still no substitute for eating a super nutrient rich diet, taking great supplements and detoxifying.
