As a social justice counselor, counselor educator, professor, author, consultant, and Afro-Caribbean immigrant, I help individuals, and organizations work through mental and emotional challenges while thriving in the face of adversities. My training in multiculturalism and social justice allows me to curate personalized treatment plans using an intersectional framework that strives to understand your unique identities (i.e., gender, race, ethicality, sexual orientation, ability) and how they may contribute to your psychological and community stressors. Specifically, my work focuses on providing culturally responsive services to Black indigenous people of color (BIPOC), le***an gay bisexual transgender q***r + (LGBTQ+), and other disenfranchised communities to work through emotional distress, trauma, relationship challenges and identity development. As a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey, I strive to use my knowledge, experience, and research to provide culturally responsive counseling services, foster understanding and healing, and provide guidance on how to create safer spaces for all.
