Residents from Brookdale Altamonte Springs had an opportunity to visit Outriggers at the New Smyrna Marina for lunch recently. While there, they managed to convince driver David to take his first-ever taste of gator tail! Afterwards, the weather remained picture-perfect as they strolled along the beach. What fun it was to wiggle toes in the sand and savor the ocean breezes!

The June Family Event at Brookdale Altamonte Springs featured "Stay Sharp! “A Brain Health Chat" with Dr. Joshua Freitas, an applied psychogerontologist and board certified dementia educator. Dr. Freitas outlined the benefits of the MIND Diet, and Brookdale's Dining Team did a fabulous job of incorporating many of the recommended foods and beverages into the evening's refreshments. Table cards detailed the benefits of each offering, giving participants much to "digest!"
