Yoga University of Florida Yoga Teacher Training Welcome to the Yoga University of Florida! Required Courses and Elective Workshops are built around specific aspects of yoga.

Our comprehensive teacher training programs are designed to enhance your own personal knowledge of Yoga as well as provide you with the confidence and skills necessary to safely teach Yoga. Our 270 hour & 615 hour programs are registered with, meet and exceed Yoga Alliance standards for a 200 hour and 500 hour yoga teacher training certification. Our 1100 & 1500 hour Yoga Therapy Programs meet and

exceed the International Association of Yoga Therapists' NEW Educational Standards for the Training of Yoga Therapists

We also offer specialty training programs in Prenatal Yoga, Youth Yoga, Hot Yoga, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga and Yoga Therapy as well as Yoga Alliance CEUs. At the Yoga University of Florida, our teacher training programs are built around the University model. Students have the flexibility to select their area of study based on their personal yoga preferences and interests. Each teacher training program has required courses that have to be taken but students can choose elective workshops in their area of interest: Hatha Yoga, Hot Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga or Yoga Therapy. Our teacher training programs can be completed in as little as 1 month (23 Days) or up to 3 years. Generally, they are anywhere from 2-7 days long, usually a 2 or 3 day weekend. Courses are taught either by our director of training or an international yoga teacher. We bring some of the biggest names in the industry to our studio and programs. In our Yoga University Teacher Training Programs, you decide which elective workshops to take. Elective workshops are generally open to the public as well, so you will be joined by experienced teachers as well as aspiring enthusiasts. Elective workshops can be taken by someone not pursuing a yoga certification, though if they decide later to pursue a yoga certification, they can retroactively include the elective workshops they've already taken. Deep Recovery: Yin, Mobility + Yoga Nidra - A 60-minute Nervous System Reset - A Special Pop Up Public Class During Teacher Training

This 60-minute class is designed to support recovery, nervous system regulation, & deep replenishment.

The first half of class blends yin yoga & mindful mobility, focusing on joint health, fascia hydration, & gentle, intelligent movement to release stored tension & improve ease of movement.

The second half of class is dedicated to Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation practiced lying down that allows the body to fully rest while the mind enters a deeply restorative state.

This class is intentionally slower, grounding, & deeply nourishing—making it the perfect complement to stronger or heated practices during the challenge.

Space is limited. Please register early. Regular class rates apply.

Restorative Yoga - A Gentle Practice for Deep Rest & Renewal - Special Pop Up Public Class During Teacher Training

Restorative Yoga is a nourishing, deeply calming practice designed to allow the body & mind to rest, reset, and recharge.

Unlike more active styles of yoga that focus on strengthening or stretching, Restorative Yoga emphasizes stillness, support, & nervous system regulation. Poses are fully supported with props and held for extended periods of time, encouraging the body to release tension & the mind to soften.

This is not a stretch class. This is a rest practice.

Through gentle support & spacious breathing, the body is invited into balance & harmony. The result is often a profound sense of ease, clarity, & restoration.

Restorative Yoga vs. Yin Yoga

While both Yin and Restorative are slow and grounding practices, they are very different. Yin Yoga applies gentle stress to connective tissues to improve flexibility & joint mobility. Restorative Yoga is about complete support & surrender. There is no intentional stretching. The body is fully propped so muscles can release & the nervous system can shift into a healing state. In Restorative, we are not trying to “open” the body — we are allowing it to be held.

What to Bring - Comfort is essential in Restorative Yoga. Please bring: Yoga mat, Bolster, 2 blankets, Optional: flat pillow, Optional: eye pillow, Socks or warm layers, if you tend to feel cool while resting, bring an extra blanket to cover your body. If you do not have props, please still come — we will happily improvise.

This class is appropriate for:

Those new to yoga

Those recovering from injury or illness

Those experiencing stress, fatigue, or overwhelm

Anyone seeking deep rest

Level 1 classes move at a slower pace with generous space for rest & breath. Modifications and support will be offered throughout.

No experience is required. Just a willingness to pause.

Dear Yoga Family,
With warmer temperatures arriving this weekend our Deep Recovery class this Saturday will move to our small studio where it’s cooler.

Our small studio is cozy and peaceful — perfect for Deep Recovery — but it holds about half the number of students as our large space.

Deep Recovery is Staying (for now) 💚 Beautiful news, yogis… Because of your heartfelt feedback and strong attendance, we are keeping Deep Recovery: Yin, Mobility + Yoga Nidra on Saturdays at 10:45 AM for the month of February.

So many students and teachers asked (and yes, pretty much begged 😊), and I heard you. I’m happy to continue offering this deeply nourishing class on a month-to-month basis. That said — attendance matters.

If numbers drop, the class may be canceled. We will also have to work together around Teacher Training and workshops/events. If you love this class, the best way to keep it is to come and support it.

Suggested Props for Class
We have a limited number of props available first-come, first-serve. For the best experience, please bring:
• 2 yoga blocks
• 1 yoga strap
• 2 blankets
• Small head pillow
• Eye pillow

(These are not required but they truly enhance your relaxation and support.)
