Before this retreat ever took shape, I traveled to Greece simply to listen — to the pace, the people, the stillness, and the way each place made my body feel.

I wanted to understand the environment not through photos or descriptions, but through presence. Healing begins with paying attention, and I needed to experience this journey the same way I hoped women would one day feel it.

I moved slowly. I noticed what brought a sense of calm, what encouraged breath to deepen, what allowed the mind to settle.

Those were the moments that guided the retreat.

Not the sights alone, but the feeling beneath them.

Every part of this experience was chosen with intention — practices that support the whole person, spaces that invite grounding, and rhythms that give women permission to rest.

My hope has always been that this retreat becomes a place where you can lay things down, reconnect with yourself, and return home with more softness than you arrived with.
If something in you is curious or feels gently pulled toward this journey, you are welcome to explore it.

You don’t have to explain yourself.
You don’t have to stay in conversations that don’t feel safe.
You don’t have to carry the weight of trying to change anyone’s mind.

This season, I want you to honor you. Step away when you need to. Breathe. Re-ground. Choose connections that feel supportive and limit what doesn’t. There is nothing unkind about protecting your peace.

It's a loving act toward self and others.

If the holidays feel emotionally tender for you, you're not alone. Grant yourself grace, gentleness, and kindness.

Grief doesn’t follow a calendar, and joy doesn’t erase what still aches.
Both can sit beside each other, and both can be honored.

Give yourself permission to feel what’s true.
To soften when you need to.
To step away when it’s too heavy.
To experience joy without guilt.
To let grief move gently, without rushing it forward or pushing it away.

If you’re navigating this emotional mix, you’re not alone.

Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to your healing.

This is more than a trip. This is the ultimate gift to SELF.

It’s a space for your mind, body, and spirit to slow down, settle, and reconnect with themselves.

When life has been heavy for a long time, the body starts to ask for a different kind of care:

Not escape, but restoration.
Not distraction, but grounding.
Not a break, but a gentle shift back toward yourself. To (re)discover yourself.

This is more than a trip. This is the ultimate gift to SELF.

It’s a space for your mind, body, and spirit to slow down, settle, and reconnect with themselves.

Not escape, but restoration.

Stress, grief, and burnout carry a weight that adds up quietly over time.
Choosing to pause and tend to your own well-being isn’t selfish. It’s necessary.

This journey is for the woman who has been holding so much, often without acknowledgment, and knows she deserves space to breathe again.

A place to soften.
A place to heal.
A place to remember the parts of herself she hasn’t had time to listen to.

Crying is not weakness.

Crying is your body’s way of softening what feels heavy. Releasing what is too much.

When emotions build, whether from stress, grief, tenderness, or relief, tears create a release that your nervous system sometimes cannot find in words.

Many people notice they cry more easily during this season. Increased memories, expectations, or emotional weight can bring feelings closer to the surface. If this is happening for you, it does not mean you’re losing control. It means your body is making space.

There is nothing wrong with having tears.
There is nothing weak about feeling deeply.

Crying is a natural form of regulation and healing.
You deserve the room to feel what you feel without shame.

Lean in and allow the tears to water the ground where your healing grows.

The holidays often bring a mix of emotions that can feel tender and unexpected. You may find yourself smiling in one moment and feeling a deep ache in the next.

Our bodies remember the people, seasons, and experiences that shaped us. They hold both the beauty and the heaviness of what this time represents. Joy and grief can sit quietly beside each other, and neither emotion cancels the other out.

You don’t have to choose one feeling over the other.
You’re allowed to hold joy.
You’re allowed to honor grief.
You’re allowed to feel both without explanation.
If this season feels layered for you, may you meet yourself with softness.

For many women, drinking has become a way to get through the holidays: not to celebrate them.

Stress, emotional labor, old wounds, and family dynamics can make the season feel heavier, and your body remembers what it used to reach for to cope.

And if you've chose sobriety, the approaching holidays can feel significantly challenging. You’re carrying more awareness, more intention, and a nervous system that’s trying to relearn safety without old patterns.

Research indicates that almost 30% of adults increase their alcohol use during the holiday season
(National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism – NIAAA).

That number isn’t about joy. It’s about pressure, memory, and overwhelm.
So if gatherings feel triggering, or if old urges come up, it’s not a regression.
Your cavings do not make you weak.
It’s a stress response.

You’re allowed to choose what supports your recovery.
You’re allowed to leave early.
You’re allowed to say no without explaining.
You’re allowed to stay close to the people and environments that help your sobriety breathe.

Your progress isn’t undone because your nervous system is struggling.
Healing is holding your ground when the season asks more from you than it should.

Meet Dr. Tameca N. Harris-Jackson (PhD, LCSW-QS, LMFT-QS, CSE) — founder of Hope & Serenity Mental Health Counseling and Wellness Center.

With more than two decades of experience in trauma-informed care, she envisioned a practice where women are seen, heard and healed — mind, body, and spirit.

Under her leadership, H&S has become a space rooted in integrity, compassion and cultural responsiveness, offering personalized mental health and wellness support for women and their families.

We’re honored to walk alongside Dr. Tea as we show up for the women and families of our communities ❤️

Permission is part of recovery.
Permission to eat.
Permission to rest.
Permission to protect your peace.
Permission to honor the body you have today.
You don’t have to earn your meals, justify your boundaries, or explain your choices. You’re allowed to stay connected to yourself, even when the season asks you to disconnect.

If there’s someone in your life who may need this reminder too, share it with love.

We could all use a little extra support this holiday season.

Grateful to learn from a leader who makes inclusion the standard, not the exception.

Dr. Tea pours into us so we can show up for every client with respect, awareness, and cultural humility.

If you’re looking for a provider who truly sees you — identity, story, and all — we’re accepting new clients.
