Orthopedic pain often starts small β€” stiffness, soreness, or limited motion β€” and gradually affects daily activities like walking, lifting, or sleeping comfortably. Left unaddressed, these issues can begin to limit independence and overall quality of life.

Orthopedic physical therapy focuses on identifying the cause of pain and restoring proper movement. Treatment may include manual therapy, guided exercise, posture correction, and functional training to reduce strain on joints and muscles while improving efficiency.

Therapy is tailored to help patients move more comfortably, build lasting strength, and return to daily activities with greater confidence and control.

Work injuries don’t always come from a single incident. Many develop over time due to repetitive tasks, physical demands, or poor body mechanics, while others happen suddenly and make it difficult to safely perform job duties.

Physical therapy helps injured workers recover by improving strength, mobility, and movement efficiency. At Alton Physical Therapy, treatment plans are designed around the physical demands of each patient’s job and the specific movements required throughout the workday.

Care may include:
β€’ Hands-on manual therapy to improve movement
β€’ Strengthening and mobility exercises
β€’ Ergonomic education for safer work habits
β€’ Work conditioning for job-specific tasks

By addressing both pain and function, therapy helps support a safer return to work and long-term physical resilience.
