Fairy Ring Birth Changes 💝
I gave birth at home to my beautiful daughter on 7/19 after an excruciatingly long 70 hour labor!
There's been lots of breastfeeding, babywearing and navigating the postpartum & new motherhood experience.
As time goes on, I still get inquiries about birth attendance as a midwife and I find myself pondering on where my business & midwifery work will go.
While I don't have all the answers currently - what I do know is this.
🌱 Unfortunately, I will not be taking on new midwifery birth clients in the foreseeable future. While this does make me sad some, I just know I am not able to maintain this responsibility at this time.
🌱️ I AM available for previous clients of mine as a repeat client. If you were a client of mine in the past and would like me as your midwife again, I am available for you! Do not hesitate to reach out.
🌱️ I AM available for midwifery assisting, within reason. If you are a local midwife and need an assistant, please reach out! If you are a mama that wants my presence at your birth, know your midwife and I have worked together, feel free to bring this up to your midwife of having me as the assistant! I may not be able to be your primary care, but I can still possibly be apart of your working birth team!
🌱️ I am also offering the following services still! I'd love to be considered for some of your womanly care needs.
Consulting, herbal consults, well-woman care/papsmears, preconception & fertility counseling, lactation and breastfeeding education & counseling, childbirth education classes, babywearing consulting, placenta art/encapsulation, postpartum healing doula support.

Time for a long overdue post!
✨ I am NO longer accepting NEW clients for the rest of 2025 ✨
I'm expecting my own baby this summer, yay!!! 🥳 with that being said, I will be taking time away from birth work to focus on my own growing family. 🌱
This does not mean I'm stepping away from birth work entirely, of course! & my repeat clients will always have my availability as long as I'm not giving birth to my own baby at the same time 😆 I'd really like to clarify how some things might look differently though...
* I am not accepting any new birth clients for 2025 unless there are special circumstances. I would possibly consider a winter birth client based on referral (i.e. if a previous client of mine or a midwife friend refers you out to me in a trustworthy manner and we're an obvious fit).
* I am still available for other work! Well-woman care, consults, educational classes, some postpartum/lactation care, placenta services etc. Please feel free to reach out to me about any of these services. This applies to both "old & new" clients of all kinds.
* Repeat/previous clients - do not hesitate to reach out to me anytime! Always make sure to reach out asap if you get a positive test, like always, but I will always be available for you to the best of my abilities!
* I do plan on assisting at births come fall/winter of 2025 for other midwives! So although I may not be your primary midwife, there is still a possibility I might be at your birth depending on the team you hire, how fun! I've already reached out to some local midwife friends, but if you're a local midwife reading this and would possibly like to consider me as an assistant - please let me know! I'd be happy to connect with you further to see if we'd make a good team assuming we haven't already worked together in the past.
* If I receive birth inquiries, I will do my best to refer out as I have been. However, we know sometimes this can be a true challenge especially in the central PA area as there's still very little options available. The options are still growing & changing like always! I wish we had more care options available to us at the time being, but I will do my best to refer you out if you are looking for your birth options locally! I'm also always available for consultations, so even if you are not my own client, hiring another birth team, etc you are more than welcome to reach out to me for my professional expertise and familiarity with the local area.

Did you know that your pap smears & well woman exams can be done in the comfort of your own home?

✨️No hard, cold, uncomfortable table, supplies or stirrups.
✨️Done by someone you trust, answers every single one of your questions, someone you can connect with and are comfortable with.
✨️Someone who will provide you with all the education, information & resources that you need.
✨️Someone who will take the time to teach you how your menstrual cycles work, will listen to you, and even give you alternative options to hormonal or implant birth control. Someone who won't tell you that birth control will fix all your problems.
✨️Where you have the option to demystify the cervix & your own anatomy. The option to insert your own speculum, look at your cervix with a mirror 🪞, & you're assured that you're the one in control of your own body and exam process. To never be afraid to say "stop", "no", or "I need a break". To have a provider who is actually trauma informed.

She's an artist herself, so I did something a little different with one of the prints & made a watercolor background 🎨 never tried it before but I really love how it turned out! I looks like the margins of the placenta blend into the colors 🌿

Lately my response times are anywhere from 2 days-1 week. My apologies, just how things are right now. This includes all Facebook messages, emails & texts. I'm doing my best, promise, and I will get back to you as soon as humanly possible!

I've added some new placenta services 🪷🌱

Might get called to a birth soon - so that means shut off all other work, pack up the car & make sure it has gas, finish getting stuff done around the house, make some nourishing food, rest & hope to get a nap/sleep in before a baby is born!
It's so important as a midwife/any birthworker to protect our mental space, take care of our own home & family, and take care of ourselves when we spend so much time taking care of other mothers & their families 💗
A lot of times though, we don't always get a lot of "prep time" before a birth. You get called to in the middle of the night, at the grocery store, where ever whenever.
