Yes!!!!! 🥰

Horsemanship goes far beyond the physical cues we give in the saddle. Horses are incredibly sensitive to energy, intention, and emotion, they feel what we’re thinking before we even act. This quote reminds us that riding isn’t just about heels down, hands steady, or seat deep. It’s about showing up mentally present, emotionally calm, and energetically clear 💛

When your thoughts are focused, your aids become softer. When your mind is calm, your horse mirrors that stillness. True connection happens when you ride with feel, not force.

Take this to the arena: before you ask your horse to respond physically, check in with your own mind. What are you communicating - even in silence?🫶🏼

So true ❤️

I love using natural horsemanship to treat each horse as an individual!

The ability to not just have conversations with them but rather listening and respecting where they are in that moment of time and not where you want them to be will only allow them to feel safe and trusting.

This in turn will open them up to one of the greatest connections you can ever imagine and their fullest performance potential. 🥰

One of many reasons why I love them so much. 🐴❤️

👀 What do I look for during assessment?

🛑 I know pictures can sometimes be deceiving, but I want to show the best I can of what I'm seeing when I look down a horses back from behind...

⚖️ I’m looking for imbalances such as, if the spine is straight or any curvatures, any asymmetries throughout the body, are the shoulders even (size, angles, etc), P.O.H. even (one side more forward), and musculature (overdeveloped, underdeveloped, evenness, etc).

📍This pic I'm wanting to point out what I specifically see as the POH (tuber coxae) is more forward on the right. Although I can see it, my assessment of using that landmark to guide my hands from those points to the center of the sacral region proves that I don't end up even. My right is more forward than my left.

🧐I believe this to be due to tension/tightness in the deeper/internal structures, specifically the hip flexors (psoas/iliacus).

I always reevaluate after a session to ensure improvement. It may not be perfect, but it has to be BETTER! In this case much better. 🥰

🛑Please take notice and observe your equine partners! Pay attention to their bodies while standing and in motion so you know what’s “normal” for them and can recognize when it’s not!

This 👇🏻💯.

Believe me! It’s what brought me to equine massage/bodywork ❤️.

Listen to your equine partners and advocate for them! Someone has to!!

The horse gets louder when you don’t listen

That behavior you ignored when it was mild… well now it’s a lot more aggressive.

The solution to ‘problem’ behavior is not:

‘They’re just grumpy’
‘They just need more rides, more work, they have too much energy’
‘They’re testing you, ride them through it..’

The horse is actually saying:

‘Ouch I’m hurting’
‘Hey this is too much for me’
‘I’m confused’
‘We’re going too fast’
‘This is scary’

👆This is what that behavior you’re so inclined to ignore is telling you.

We need to stop making justifications for things that are actually plain as day.

The horse DOES TALK we just need to listen.

⭐️ Front end releases!

Whether the horse is more on the forehand, has an underdeveloped thoracic sling, or just plain has a heavy work load, this is a very important area to work on and get those releases.

Working all around the scapula is beneficial in helping to free up the shoulder!

👇🏻Here I’m doing a front scapula release. I like to go very slowly and see how deep under the scapula I can get.

🔑 Going slowly and with what the horse can tolerate is key in making this successful. Once they understand what I’m doing and that it feels better, I’m able to get in a little deeper to loosen any tension so that the scapula can move more freely eliminating any restrictions.

🎥 Be sure to check out this “Feel Good Friday’s” reel of this maneuver and also on the brachiocephalic muscle at the base of the neck.

✨✨Fetlock Taping for support 🤗

My older guy had a successful polo career! 🐎

With that comes injuries and arthritis.
His left sesamoid fracture retired him at 17. I gladly took him and have been making little bits of progress over the last 6 years.

From rest to light work, diet improvements, feet improvements, bodywork, and rehabilitative training; we’ve made small bits of progress. 🥰

I say small partially because of the time I’ve had to work with him as life happens and also his age.

Since I embarked on the equine massage and bodywork 3 years ago, along with relocating about 1000 miles away, I’m proud of our progress! ❤️

I love utilizing the modality of taping to help support his fetlocks along with the ligaments and tendons. I think he likes it too 🤠

I always strive to learn ways to help our equine partners feel and perform their best!

📍Don’t forget about the September special I’m running of Buy 3 get 1 Free!

I’ve seen the best progress when massage and bodywork are done on a regular basis!

🛑🛑🛑September Special Alert‼️
(Read to the end)

I think Willow was excited to see me😃
(I’d like to think so anyways😂)

Or maybe it was the Digize essential oil she was inhaling and wanting to eat 😋
(You guessed it! A great oil to support the digestive system, link in comments if you’re interested 😉)

She has really been coming out of her shell since this is the 4th consecutive monthly session she’s had.

📍She’s opening up with her dialogue and personality.

📍She’s been releasing quicker and easier.

📍She has even offered to participate in her session by doing some stretches in a couple areas while I was working!

📍She seems to be holding those releases longer too🤗

In lieu of the great improvements of Willow’s consecutive sessions…

🌟I want to offer a September Special of Buy 3, get 1 FREE.

Sessions consist of manual massage/bodywork, any extra modalities would be extra. (Ex: k-taping)

Travels fees may apply!

The package must be paid for on 1st visit, with that 1st visit being in September 🤗

Must be used on a consecutive monthly basis. (So that would be 4 sessions used in 4mos back to back)

🐴A lot of shows and great trail riding around the corner! This is a great way to ensure they feel and perform their best!

🥰I look forward to seeing and being a part of your equine partners progress!

⭐️This was an electro muscle therapy session on my guy for his left shoulder.

He tends to carry tension and get “stuck” here as I believe this is an area that overcompensates from issues and dysfunctions from the hind end.

So I gave him a nice relaxing session while stimulating multiple muscles at a time. The main muscles in the treatment are supraspinatus and infraspinatus, with other surrounding muscles brachiocephalicus, deltoid, triceps, rhomboids, and trapezius also being stimulated.

Such a nice and gentle way to open up a broader area of concern, and the horses love it. 🥰

🌟Another great example of thermal imaging showing remarkable results from before and after massage.

Relaxed neck and all the dark area broken up, diminished and improved!

I don’t always use this tool on every case, but it is neat to see the difference. 🙌🏻
