Please help us welcome Kirsten Weiland to the Trixies Salon & Spa team!!!!
Kirsten has joined the new Trixies Salon & Spa Wellness Team and will be our Community Engagement & Support Specialist.
She will serve as the connection point between Trixie’s Wellness Team and the community, building awareness and relationships that support individuals experiencing cancer, hair loss, menopause and other health challenges. This role ensures that Trixie’s Salon & Spa is recognized as a safe, knowledgeable, non-medical environment and compassionate space for healing, self-care, and wellness services.
Kirsten Weiland is a dedicated and compassionate wellness professional with over a decade of
experience in therapeutic bodywork and around two years offering Reiki energywork. Graduating from lowa School of Beauty in 2014, Kirsten began her career by opening a private practice in Prairie City, lowa in 2015. In 2019, she expanded her vision by founding the Prairie Escape Wellness Center, which served the community with holistic care and a variety of
offerings until its closure in December, 2024. Today, Kirsten offers specialized massage services to patients at the MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center in downtown Des Moines, where her calming presence and healing touch
provide comfort and care to oncology patients. Kirsten is thrilled to be joining the Trixie's Salon and Spa's Wellness Team! She looks forward to contributing to the growth of the Wellness Team's offerings and helping to provide support and resources to those we serve. Her approach to wellness is grounded in empathy, authenticity and the belief that every individual deserves to be seen, heard and met exactly where they are in their life's journey. Kirsten specializes in Oncology massage, while offering additional massage modalities including Bum Scar Therapy, Hot Stones, Cupping, Reiki,
Myofascial Release, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Geriatric and Chair massage. Outside of her professional work, Kirsten enjoys lap swimming, gardening, cooking, attending concerts with her husband, Mike. She has also recently taken up the whimsical pastime of Troll hunting! She is also embracing the new chapter of life as an empty nester, with her two adult
children, Zoey and Tate, now off and forging their own paths in this world. With a passion for serving others and a heart for healing, Kirsten is excited to continue to make
a meaningful impact in the lives of those she shares space with at Trixie's Salon and Spa.
