Our Resident Council recently took a moment to recognize someone who makes a BIG difference every single day—Kelly, our amazing Central Supply Manager!
From making special runs to the store for residents, to stepping in and using her cosmetology skills while our hairdresser is on leave, Kelly truly goes above and beyond to make sure our residents feel cared for, comfortable, and valued.
Her kindness, flexibility, and willingness to help in any way possible do not go unnoticed. We are so grateful to have her as part of the Oakwood family!

Our team had some shore-ly amazing fun celebrating National Beach Day—goggles, floaties, and all! 😎🌊
Staff cooled off with popsicles, and our residents joined in on the fun by planting beautiful flowers in pots for the courtyard—right from indoors while staying cozy 🌸🌼
A special shoutout to Wendy, one of our RNs, who won a prize basket for being one of our most decorated dress-up day participants! She is always full of spirit, bringing smiles to our residents and truly brightening their days 💙
It was a fun-filled day full of laughter, creativity, and a little bit of summer magic…the Oakwood way! 💙

Day 3 of Nursing Home Week = COLOR + TEAMWORK! 🎨💙
Today was all about getting creative and getting things done! Staff and residents had a blast tie-dying Oakwood shirts—so many bright, one-of-a-kind designs bringing smiles all around.
We also kept things productive by completing lift training with our new sit-to-stands and Hoyer lifts, helping ensure our team is confident and equipped to safely assist residents with mobility and care.
And a big shoutout to Ty, one of our CNAs, who added to the fun by winning a prize—way to go! 🎉👏
A colorful day filled with teamwork, learning, and lots of smiles—just the way we like it at Oakwood! 🌈👏

🌼✌️ Nursing Home Week – Day 2: A Moment in Bloom! ✌️🌼
Today we turned back the clock to the groovy 1970s with a flower-filled celebration that was all about peace, love, and blooming together 🌸🌼🌺
Staff and residents embraced the theme with bright colors and cheerful vibes, making it a truly far out day! To top it all off, we enjoyed some delicious dirt cake—the perfect sweet treat to match our “Moment in Bloom” theme 🍫🌱
Thank you to everyone who helped make today so fun and uplifting. It’s days like these that remind us how special our Oakwood family truly is 💛

🌸✨ National Nursing Home Week is in full bloom at Oakwood! ✨🌸
We kicked off this year’s theme, “Moments in Bloom,” with a cozy and fun Pajama Day (because let’s be honest… Mondays call for it! 😉). Staff enjoyed a spread of muffins, danishes, and breakfast treats to keep everyone fueled for the week ahead.
Our residents also had a special visit from a guest artist who helped them paint beautiful pottery pieces—such a fun and creative way to start the week! 🎨
It was a wonderful first day filled with smiles, relaxation, and creativity. We can’t wait to share more of our blooming moments with you all as the week continues! 🌷💛

🥤 Friday was National “Have a Coke Day”, so we made sure everyone could enjoy a refreshing pick-me-up with regular and Diet Coke! Because sometimes it’s the little things that help you get through a busy shift 😊
💐 And on Sunday, we celebrated Mother’s Day by gifting our staff heart-shaped stress “balls”—a small reminder of how much heart they put into caring for our residents every single day ❤️
We are so grateful for all that our team does—not just on special days, but every day. Thank you for bringing compassion, dedication, and heart to everything you do!
