Altoona, WI – [February 20, 2026] – OakLeaf Surgical Hospital has appointed Scott Polenz as Chief Executive Officer, effective February 24, 2026. This announcement comes after a comprehensive search to identify a leader deeply committed to the local community with extensive experience in healthcare operations.

Scott brings 25 years of market expertise, strong operational leadership, and a demonstrated track record of building and sustaining high-performing physician partnerships. These strengths will be instrumental as OakLeaf Surgical Hospital advances its 2026 strategic priorities and long-term growth agenda. His leadership style reflects a commitment to cultivating a positive, values-driven culture where trust, respect, and shared purpose guide every interaction, ensuring team members feel valued and empowered to do their best work.

A native of Eau Claire, Scott holds a master’s degree from Edgewood College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

Most recently, Scott served as Executive Champion of the Marshfield Clinic Health System engagement journey, advancing statewide initiatives to strengthen engagement among employees, leaders, and clinicians. He also led key efforts to improve recruitment, retention, and provider engagement across the organization.

Scott will lead operational excellence, drive key strategic initiatives, and play a central role in advancing OakLeaf Surgical Hospital’s mission in the Chippewa Valley.
