I often get questions about how cupping works and if it really has any effects on the muscles. Although there are many reasons why I would encourage cupping during a massage session, for this client I wanted the benefits of when the cups are released. After bringing blood flow and nutrients to the cupped areas, this session was more about when I remove the cups! The fascia is released, the area can passively be “flushed out” of cellular waste, and the area is more pliable for me to start some deeper tissue work.
