We can assist with bathing, incontinent care, meal preparation, medication reminders, transportation, transferring, laundry, light housekeeping and more. We have managers on call 24/7 and amazing caregivers who have been interviewed extensively including multiple background checks. Amarillo VA to host 18th Annual Welcome Home Veterans Event

AMARILLO, Texas – The Amarillo VA Health Care System (AVAHCS) is hosting its 18th Annual Welcome Home Veterans event on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a NEW LOCATION: Amarillo Civic Center North Exhibit Hall Entrance #2, 401 Buchanan St, Amarillo, Texas 79101.

There will be an opening ceremony at 11:15 a.m. and the food line will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Come enjoy a time of family fun, FREE food courtesy of United Supermarkets, large interactive resource fair, door prizes and more as we celebrate your service ahead of Veterans Day!

“It is an honor to host this event every year to ‘welcome home’ our hometown heroes and thank them for their service,” said Dr. Rodney S. Gonzalez, AVAHCS Director.

Congratulations to our Operating Director Michalea Perez for recently receiving her 5-year service award from Cornerstone Caregiving!

Michalea, pictured second from the right, attended Cornerstone Caregiving's annual C3 Conference along with the other operating directors from across the country. Also pictured are owners Ryan Gibson, on the left, and Michael Hillman, on the right. In the middle are Margaret Childers, operating director in Mobile, Ala., and Matt Conley, operating director in Omaha and Grand Island, Neb.

Michalea is the longest standing operating director in the country, followed by Margaret and Matt. They each received a service award and watch for their commitment to Cornerstone Caregiving and their local communities!
