⚠️ Be prepared! With the winter weather and freezing temperatures, stay indoors and keep up to date on conditions that can help keep you safe. ❄️
How should you prepare?
• Limit travel during icy conditions. If you must drive, use extra caution.
• Keep an emergency/ first aid kit nearby.
• Protect pipes by insulating exposed lines and allowing faucets to drip.
• Heat your home safely and keep space heaters away from flammable items.
• Bring pets indoors and ensure they have warmth and fresh water.
• Wear layered clothing and cover any exposed skin.
• Have at least 3 days' worth of fresh water and non-perishable items.
• Ensure electronics are fully charged.
• Car has full tank of gas.
Signs and symptoms of hypothermia and/or frostbite include:
• Core body temperature drops below 95°F.
• Shivering, confusion, drowsiness, slurred speech, memory loss, and cold to the touch skin.
• Numb, waxy, pale, or grayish skin.
