David Joe “Doobie” Daniels, 61, of Amarillo, passed away on April 27, 2026. He was born in Fullerton, California, on July 17, 1964, to Parnell Malory and Ossie Lee Daniels.

Doobie Daniels lived a life defined not by limitations, but by everything he heard, felt, and understood. He listened more than he spoke, knew more than he ever claimed, and carried a quiet wisdom that drew people to him. Doobie loved loud music, fast cars, his family, and his friends, and he never hesitated to help a stranger or rescue a stray dog. A natural musician, he found joy in any instrument that made noise, and he never shied away from fixing things or building with his hands. Forever a big kid at heart, he brought laughter, curiosity, and warmth wherever he went. His uncanny ability to diagnose a car just by listening to it was one of the many gifts that made him unforgettable.

Doobie was preceded in death by his parents, Ossie and Parnell Daniels; his brothers, Jimmy Smith and J.D. Smith; his sister, Lilian Eberting; and his son, Josh Daniels.

He is survived by his sisters, Fay Patterson and May Elmore; his girlfriend, Shelley Eileter; his daughter, Jennifer Armstrong; his sons, David Daniels II, and David’s wife Nancy, and Jesse Daniels; his grandchildren, Braylynn Daniels, David Daniels III, Rorei Daniels, Dakota Armstrong, Cheyenne Armstrong, and Levi Armstrong.

Doobie will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and the unmistakable way he made life brighter for everyone around him.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo.

Albert Anthony Kubena, Jr, “Junior,” son of Albert Kubena and Cordelia (Jackson) Kubena, was 88 and a member of the Town of Mountainair. Junior, as everyone knew him, was welcomed into heaven by his loving wife, Phyllis Christine (Fisher) Kubena.

Pawpaw, as his family knew him, was a retired cattle truck driver who loved his wife and family, his cows and horses, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He also loved making things with Mawmaw, creating many beautiful things together.

Pawpaw was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandpa, and friend to those who knew and loved him. He loved his trucking career and the adventures he had while hauling cattle. He loved helping his kids as they chased their rodeo careers. We remember him checking on the cows and horses, singing the funniest songs to his grandkids, and riding his tractor. Pawpaw was a character.

Your work is done here on this earth, Pawpaw. Now fly high with Mawmaw.

Junior was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Fisher) Kubena; a daughter, Shaunda Lynn Jacobs; a grandson, Brandon Long; his parents, Cordelia (Jackson) Kubena and Albert Kubena; his brothers, Jim Allen and Bob Allen; his sisters, Mary Lou Caster and Jean Stephans; and his nephews, Michael Allen and Bill Caster.

He is survived by his children, Shannon Long and husband John, Albert III “Andy” Kubena and wife Darla, and De’Ann Chavez and husband Mark. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Corri Spaur and husband Randall, Krista Nelson and husband Kameron, La’Sha Chavez and fiancé Joshua Martin, Lindsay Kubena, Shaylynn Etchart and husband Kent, Bailey Chavez, Jace Jacobs and wife Katelyn, and Kelvin Chavez and fiancé Jewel Lamb. Romero, Anthony Romero, Kason Kinzy, Avea Romero, Kamdyn Nelson, Randilynne Etchard, Ezlyn Chavez, Jaxtyn Jacobs, Judd Jacobs, Ember Spaur, Ava Spaur, and one great-great-grandson, Xavian Lucero.

Ronnie Moore, 69, passed away on May 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and laughter. He was a devoted husband, loyal friend, proud father and grandfather, and the kind of man who could fix anything and ran to the rescue of others without even blinking an eye.

Ronnie had a lifelong love for hot rods. He spent countless hours in his shop, taking pride in patina, and if there was a car show nearby, Ronnie was there, admiring the hard work of others. Few things made him smile like the California air and a hot rod shop.

Those who knew Ronnie will remember his talent for fixing everything and the way his eyes lit up when he talked about family, cars, and the things he loved most. His grandchildren brought immeasurable joy to his life, and he treasured every moment spent playing in the yard with them, making them laugh, and creating memories they’ll carry forever.

He was preceded in death by one of the loves of his life, his wife, Debi Moore; his parents, Kenneth and Peggy Moore; his brother, Tommy Moore, and his beloved daughter, Jennifer Daffern.

He is survived by his loving wife, Hillary Moore; his sister, Tammie Moore-Loehe; his daughter, Haylee DeVries, and husband Sheldon; his stepchildren, A.J. Sharpensteen and wife Tiffany, Kenzie Johnson and husband Tevin, and Courtney Cross and Skylar; and his cherished grandchildren, Ella, Emry, Bennett, Ryleigh, Ky, and Parker. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Ronnie lived a life built on love, grit, loyalty, and horsepower. We like to think he arrived at Heaven’s gates on a beautiful hot rod to a line of family and friends that went before him.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Journey Church, 9711 FM 2186, Amarillo.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BSA Hospice or Heritage Convalescent Center, whose staff went beyond caring for Ronnie during his final days.

Karsten Alana Klein, born April 17, 2026, returned to her creator that very same day.

In the short time we enjoyed life with her, she knew only the love and comfort of being in her parents’ arms. We’d like to think we learned something about the spirit God placed in her little body. Maybe the sweet cravings were telling us that she was kind and caring. Maybe the displays of strength during ultrasounds and procedures showed us that she was a force to be reckoned with.

Maybe her tendency to hang out on one particular side of her mom’s belly was a sign that she looked for things that were good and “right.” And maybe the intense desire for peanut butter meant she was just a little nutty. But mostly, maybe the calm she settled into when her dad tapped on the belly meant that she knew she had a family that loved her and cared for her. God, we pray that’s the case.

Until we meet you again in that bright city, sweet, strong, nutty girl.

💛 Grateful for the Care in Our Community 💛

Here in Amarillo, we are incredibly blessed to have hospice teams who serve families with compassion, dignity, and heart.

These caregivers walk alongside families during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Hospice care is more than medical support — it’s comfort, guidance, and presence when it matters most. Many teams provide not only physical care, but emotional and spiritual support to both patients and their loved ones.

We are truly grateful for the nurses, aides, social workers, and volunteers who dedicate themselves to helping families find peace, comfort, and meaningful moments together.

Their work makes a lasting difference in our community.

💬 If you or your family has ever been touched by hospice care, we’d love to hear your experience.

🌷 As April Comes to a Close… 🌷

As we near the end of April, we’re reminded how quickly seasons change.
The days grow longer, the air feels lighter, and life continues to move forward.

But in the middle of it all, it’s often the quiet moments that matter most —
the conversations, the laughter, the memories shared with the people we love.

Those are the things that stay with us.

At Lighthouse Funeral Home, we believe every life has a story worth remembering…
and every family deserves the space to honor it.

💬 As this month comes to an end, what’s one moment from April you’ll hold onto?
