The latest cohort of Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) learners from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing in Amarillo was honored with a lamp lighting ceremony. The tradition pays homage to Florence Nightingale, who is considered the mother and pioneer of nursing.

The ABSN program at in Amarillo is an intensive, 12-month program designed for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree and want to fast-track into a nursing career with a blend of online coursework and hands-on clinical experiences.

💉There's still time to get your flu shot! Protect yourself and those around you this holiday season by getting your flu shot today. The vaccine helps prevent serious illness and keeps our community healthy all season long.

Flu shots are available at the Amarillo Pharmaceutical Care Center (APCC), located inside Texas Tech Physicians.

We offer:
⚫Regular trivalent flu (Fluzone) for those 7 and older
⚫High-dose flu (Fluzone HD) for those 65 and older
⚫Egg-free flu (Flublok) for those 18 and older with egg or certain other allergies

Stop by for your immunization Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 5 p.m. APCC provides all vaccines and injections, excluding Provera. Don’t wait, roll up your sleeve and fight the flu this season!
