Flu season’s here, Amarillo,so let’s talk about when to head our way.

It’s normal to feel crummy for a few days with the flu. But when that fever won’t break, the cough gets heavy, or the fatigue hits harder than usual, we're here to help.

Here’s when it’s time to come in:
• Trouble breathing or shortness of breath
• Pain or pressure in the chest or belly
• Dizziness, confusion, or feeling disoriented
• Dehydration signs like dry mouth or no tears
• Symptoms that improve, then come roaring back
• If you're just not getting better, or have rebound symptoms

Flu hits harder for older adults, young kids, pregnant women, and folks with chronic conditions. You don't need to tough it out if something feels off, come in and see us.

New Year’s Eve should be full of countdowns, confetti, and celebration, not emergency lights.

Before the night kicks off, make a plan to get home safe:

Line up a sober ride ahead of time.
Use a rideshare or taxi.
Stay the night if you’re at a friend’s.

A little planning goes a long way. Keep it fun, keep it safe, and start the new year without a trip to the ER.
