It’s that time of year again. My TOP therapy tools right now…. Lysol, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes 🙌🏼 😂 We’ve all been there and kids tend to project all that coughing right in your face 😂.

Today’s lesson: How to cough into your elbow and turn away from other humans while you do it.

SLPs stay healthy and take your vitamins!

P.S. Don’t spray sanitizer at you kids, that was for comedy only 😂😂😂 (you would be shocked at some of the comments I get when I do funny videos 😂)

The 100th ASHA convention was a whirlwind. I exhibited my books with my husband (and SOLD OUT), presented on Advocating in the workplace, and got to sight see and visit my best friend who lives nearby. I’m am grateful for the experience and all of the love and support that was poured into me the last week. To all of my customers, thank you…you are the reason I keep creating. I truly love you all!

It’s that time of year again when things start to pile up. October/November has always been prime referral season for me, not to mention progress reports being due, IEP meetings every week, and normal therapy sessions.

What is your busiest month?

Tips I have shared before:
▶️ Use my my monthly cheat sheet (sent to my email subscribers) to keep track of important date/deadlines. Let me know if you need a copy in the comment: comment “cheat sheet”.
▶️ Make a to do list at the end of the day on a sticky note and put it on your computer (the stuff that are MUST dos the next day).
▶️ Try not to get too overwhelmed, do as much as you can in one day (use your time wisely) and try not to take too much work home.

This is the part of our job that is HARD!

LOW Stock Alert! These cards are almost sold out! First of a kind cards with REAL PHOTOS and language visuals built in!!

➡️ Describing Actions & More!
They were created to be picture stimuli for a variety of language tasks. They contain 50 full-color photos of real people doing relatable things with language prompts on the sides.
50 durable cards come in a sturdy box with ideas for use inside the lid. Each cards comes with a vocabulary guide on the back. You will also receive a link for a printable version (front only) and a Spanish version of the cards (front only).
The therapist/teacher can use the cards at their own discretion but here are the skills I target using them in speech therapy sessions:
* Sentence formulation: Tell who is doing the action, what they are doing, and where are they are doing it at.
* Early inferencing: Why are they doing it?, how do they feel?, and what do you think will happen next?
* -Ing verbs or identifying the action: The student can name the action and expand by using adverbs to describe the actions.
* Past tense: You can prompt the student by saying: “look at what the kids did yesterday, tell me what they did.”
* Pronouns: work on pronouns he, she, they while telling about the pictures.
* WH Questions: who, what, where, & why questions are built into the prompts. You could expand and ask more questions about each picture.
* Adjectives: ask the student to name adjectives that describe the objects or people in each picture.
This purchase is for physical cards
If you are interested in a downloadable/printable version ONLY you can get those on my webpage of TPT, I’ve been selling that version since 2020! There is also a BOOM card set available.

I am SO excited to share my books with the thousands of SLPs, SLPAs, and other professionals who will be attending the ASHA convention ( ) next week. This is your warning, I am awkward BUT I LOVE meeting you and I have some fun stickers and freebies! My niece is usually with me but…sigh…she can’t miss clinicals for grad schools (I mean it’s a pretty good excuse). My husband will be helping me this year at the booth AND I will be presenting on setting boundaries and advocating at work (one of my favorite topics). SEE YOU SOON!

If you aren’t going, make sure you are on my email list because I will send out some fun stuff for you too!

There are 5 options (1 & 2 steps/open-ended). They are great for in person or digital (color on Zoom with the annotating feature).

Raise your hand in the comments if you are working the week of Thanksgiving 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️
